A church pipe organ sample recorded on my phone on summer vacations. Chop, repitch, stretch, loop, and I can drone for hours. And somehow out of the wall of sound there emerges a pulse. And the sonic space feels incomplete without some glitch and noise. And I let it find its rhythm and breathe.

James Edward Armstrong has been creating ambient and drone music under the name of Slow Clinic since 2012, and performs as one half of the long- distance duo, A Home For Ghosts, alongside Neil Carter. Based in Farnham, UK, James has been running the independent tape label Rusted Tone recordings since 2018. This mix explores a number of recent releases James has been listening to, all of which have been acquired since entering lockdown.

Deep Breakfast 067 - Slow Clinic

When she gets on stage, Mexico-born Vienna-based producer Alyssa Auvinen Barrera becomes LDY OSC. A frontier-busting scrambler of sines by trade, Alyssa began her musical journey in the late '90s when she felt a connection to the heavier industrial sounds. By 2007 she was immersed in electronic music and soon turned her sights toward DJing. After learning electronic music production techniques, Alyssa moved to NYC in 2010 to attend university, graduating with a BFA in Liberal Arts and Science with a Major in Music and Sound Engineering. While in University her classmates called her Lady Oscillator because she was into the study of synthesis and DIY synth culture. 

She has long been taking part in synth-punk/wave projects such as Artefactos De Dolor - alongside Todd Sines and Archetype - whose debut LP 'La Niña' came out earlier in 2019, LDY OSC is now spreading her wings as a solo artist. After releasing the single 'OAO' on The Bunker New York 15-year anniversary compilation, quickly followed by her first solo effort on the label, 'Magic² of 8' EP, in 2018, Alyssa made a further impactful impression with 'sōt', issued via Swedish label, Kontra-Musik, and which could be presented as the "dub version of the Chernobyl meltdown".

Showing a much different facet of her craft, LDY OSC’s own take at the dance and festival-oriented music continuum can be heard on her upcoming 'Electric-Earthy-Esoteric' EP, to be released on c.l.a.w.s and Solar’s label, Squirrels on Film.  A citizen of the universe to its widest extent, just as comfortable incorporating foreign cultures and languages into her art as she is toying with the semantics of analogue music, LDY OSC is just getting started.

When she is not making music for night clubs and electronic music oriented events, Alyssa dedicates her time to teaching Barre and hosting  meditations using oscillators and other instruments used for sound healing. Her sound therapy techniques incorporate her extensive knowledge with music, tuning, and voice training. As well as incorporating body movements into her practice to further release tension in the body. Before her musical career Alyssa studied Physical Therapy in college and studied health sciences extensively. The workshop that she presents varies in format and can be presented in many different settings.

His productions are 4x4 experiments of low tempo with field recordings and marked spaces, where he explores timbres, textures and cinematographic
structures. He is resident at the Alpenglühen and Taiga sessions and owner of the label Antimatter together with Bule.
He is also the owner of Alpenglühen (the label) focused in deep and ambient techno which explores the thin line between light and darkness.

심오하고 긴 믹싱을 가진 그의 진보적인 세션은 실험음악, 앰비언트 그리고 수평적이고 Dub 한 테크노 사이를 항해한다.
그의 작품은 4x4 의 낮은 템포를 가지는 실험으로, 현장 녹음과 그가 음색과 질감 그리고 시네마토그래픽을 탐구하는 공간들에서 이루어진다. 
그는 Taiga 세션의 레지던트이며, Bule 와 함께 Antimatter 레이블의 소유자이며, 또한 빛과 어둠의 얇은 경계를 탐험하는, 딥 테크노와 앰비언트 테크노를 추구하는 Alpenglühen 레이블의 오너이기도 하다.

Alejandro Morse recorded this mix during early 2020’s COVID-19 pandemic global lockdown, using music to cope and catalize a series of complex feelings and actions due to uncertainty and scope of the epidemic spread. Dark sounds for the downfall of civilization, a dystopian reality transfigurated into brighter and hopefully better times while nature regenerate itself due to human absence... come what may, everything unfolds as it should be.
