Partnering with the Barcelona-based Mostra Festival to showcase some of the recorded sets during their second edition. Mostra is an independent small-format festival of avant-garde and experimental electronic music held in Barcelona on Easter weekend. Nathalia's set was showcased on the first day of performances at Castell de Montjuïc, an emblematic landmark in Barcelona with incredible views of the whole city.

Zero Cult is the project of Emil Ilyayev from Israel, who has been producing electronic music for well over a decade. The project was born in 2003 after discovering the new sound of downtempo and chill out music in the underground scene. Emil's music has a unique sound, that combines mysterious melodies and vibes with downtempo beats. His debut album "Art of Harmony" was described as the best chill album of 2006. Combining carefully designed textures with dreamlike atmospheres and a solid rhythmic structure, Zero Cult sends us on a new journey through his original musical universe. His discography is a collection of contemporary ambient gems, that demands frequent listening and will surprise you with new sounds bursting out from nowhere. DJ MAGGIE brings you this "Fizziology" titled DJ set about which she says: "The majority of this mix was recorded live as an opening set for Moontribe's New Year's Day Vibe 2024 in Los Angeles. Since I ended that set with unreleased music, I trimmed the last two tracks and added two tracks to the beginning in the studio. Some new music mixed with some classic favorites!" DJ Maggie carefully curates the best of downtempo electronic into lush, playful and deeply replenishing sets that invite listeners on shimmering audio odysseys. Evolving her own brand of intuitive sound at the legendary Southern California desert gatherings of the groundbreaking Moontribe Collective, Maggie has played for a wide range of events, from festivals like Ozora and Astronox, to intimate yoga retreats and desert campouts. Adhémar (@adhemarmusic) is a multi-disciplinary artist, establishing his universe through music and visual works. Constantly in search of the luminous quality of sounds, in a world made of shadows and light, his music is closely linked to his plastic work. This obsession with shadows leads him to think and create spaces, atmospheres that focus on the lightness and poetry of light. The idea of "narrative potential of music", allows us to confront the psychological and philosophical journey with a particular relationship on what is alive and what surrounds us (whether it is the material, immaterial world, the fact that everything is constantly becoming). With a particular rigour for transitions, whether in his own production or in his DJset, his universe is built little by little, with the passing of sound transformations and the light and poetic transportation of it all.

Since 2014, UK-based label, https://soundcloud.com/astralindustries have been responsible for some of the most enlightening and entertaining releases of recent years. Their output has helped otherwise forgotten or out of print music see the light of day, provided new takes on previous classics, whilst also pushing forward new music by some of the most well-respected artists within the ambient genre. 

Debuting with a release by dub-techno legend DeepChord in 2014, Astral Industries went on to release Wolfgang Voigt's live project, Rückverzauberung Live In London in 2015.  In 2016 they followed with a 1985 recording from disbanded dutch collective Chi - a timeless and undoubtedly classic record, whilst in the same year pitching Wolfgang and Deepchord together for the very first time, with reinterpretations of Peter Michael Hamel's classic, Colors of Time. By then, and combined with the continually brilliant artwork of Theo Ellsworth, we knew that Astral Industries was a label with staying-power, and a growing catalog of releases worth collecting - be it just for the framed artwork, or moreover, the complete music package. 

In 2017, we've seen an LP by Heavenly Music Corporation, aka Kim Cascone (likely encouraged by the recent re-release of his own label Silent Records), a third LP by The Chi Factory, and then just last month a beautiful album by Waveform Transmission (Rod Modell of DeepChord and Chris Troy), with a sublime follow-up album, a massive 20 years after their first. 

The man behind the Astral Industries machine, Ario is a proven expert at plucking obscure gems from the past, or ensuring that good music gets the platform and artistic presentation it deserves. In just a few years, Ario has curated a highly respected and anticipated label roster that demands attention, and has yet to disappoint. The music is always gentle, deep and often extremely vivid, be it deeply hypnotic ambient, or gentle murmurs of dub-techno. 

With curatorial talents like this, we're overjoyed to host an exclusive 2hr+ mix of Ario digging into his record collection, and interlocking a few select exclusive Astral Industries bits in-between. It's one hell-of-a hypnotic journey and just like the Astral Industries releases, deserved of your full undivided, escapist attention.

For our 38th installment of the Rusted Rhythms series, Rust family favorites pheel. and parkbreezy have resurrected their Featherbed set to showcase loads of original tracks and a few choice flips and remixes. Co-founders of the all.Lo label, and the brains behind the Morning Coffee project, these two producer/dj's have their fingers on the pulse of trip-hop's many varieties, creating their signature blends through an infusion head-nod fundamentals with ample servings of saturated bass weight.

Right from the jump, they zero in on the vibe of the hour, delivering smooth cuts of collaged melodies and brackish drum breaks. Their own individual styles meet at the nexus of broken beats and juiced-up sub frequencies, balancing the high of a listening experience with the pull of a physical experience. They were even gracious enough to mix in a Groovsauce track, courtesy of their live project with Thought Process. Through and through, Rusted Rhythms Vol. 38 is a gift to both heads in the know and new fans alike, with the simple assurance that you'll be coming back for more as soon as you finish your first serving.
