Arriving on a limited 200-copy translucent orange vinyl, 'Dark REM' on Cuddling Monsters’ second release on Mask Records is a hunched-over and direct dub techno cut with forceful drums and deft percussion, adding texture next to warm, sustained pads. There's a real sense of urgency in this most frictionless groove, which means it cannot fail to cast a spell on the dance floor. The fantastic 'Event Horizon' is then infused with the aura of deep space - sustained chords with a cosmic edge add vast scale to the well-programmed deep techno drums. 'Monster Talk' is a mid-tempo dub track with underlapping drums and rattling, rusted chords that disappear to infinity. It's cavernous and evocative, with myriad little details occupying the mind. 'Temporal Aura' is another standout sound that blends deep techno, dub, and minimal into a serene soundtrack that encourages inward reflection while driving onwards through the cosmos. Mask Records founder ZentaSkai and his creative partner Laura Merino Allue are Berlin mainstays helping shape the underground. Cuddling Monsters is a new project that debuted on the label in March. It is all about crafting music with analogue instruments, which they believe "offer distinctive sonic qualities, creative constraints, and genuine sound reproduction”. They explore Detroit-infused house, dub techno and minimal soundscapes with raw edges and a great sense of atmosphere.

Stockholm LTD welcomes Nihad Tule to the label, pairing the Sweden-based producer with label boss Pär Grindvik for a split EP titled ‘Landmarks’. Each component of this five track release, although written separately, fits together like a story which was meant to be. 

‘Landmarks’ follows the success of Grindvik’s premiere LP ‘Isle of Real’, released via Stockholm LTD in May, an album which spans the breadth of Grindvik's influences from his 20 year career. Here, the focus is firmly on the club floor. SLOBODA label head Tule bookends the release with two tracks of paralleled intensity. ‘Kuortane (Landmarks)’ pairs grainy, ethereal chords with thundering drums, while ‘Bleed’ closes the EP with nervous percussion layered underneath bubbles of twisted melody. Grindvik bridges Tule’s work with a double dose of high-grade techno in the form of ‘Tradition’ and ‘Rested’, both tracks laced with Grindvik’s trademark haunting themes, which bind the EP together to form a perfect whole.

Following Leitmotiv, the debut album of Berlins new dynamic duo Puresque, Tresor Records is proud to present a set of remixes of the albums main titles. A record that drifts between celestial sounding landmarks, HIM006’s A-side starts hard with corrosive acid pads on its first stop and cools down thereafter with dreamy woodwind expeditions and ambient synth drones. Nice Girl provides a record with a B-side thoughtfully switching to deep, tumbling percussion and echoing samples, ramping it up again with the evil of more low pH synths and eerie whispering samples in truly eldritch tracks. Born in 1980 and raised in the Detroit area, Luke Hess has harnessed a deep appreciation for electronic music and the expression of the underground movement. 

His background in mathematics and engineering has given him a scientific approach to the dance floor, using frequencies, tones, and soundscapes to transform surroundings and mood. 
In 2003 he recorded his first promotional mix CD release for UR/Submerge. Since then, his faith based music production has landed him a seat with FXHE and Planet-e in Detroit. 

His debut album was released in early May 2009 by Denmark based label Echocord. 
In 2010 he began his own interpretation of Detroit techno with his new Detroit project and record label - DeepLabs. 

His sophomore album “Keep On” was released on FXHE records in 2012 and received a Recommended 4.5/5 rating on Resident Advisor. 

Hess is regarded as a perfectionist in his live sets and behind the decks layering his tracks in a very detailed and hypnotic manner. 
He has played at notable venues and events such as Tresor (Berlin), Culture Box (Copenhagen), Berghain (Berlin), Unit (Tokyo), Detroit Electronic Music Festival (Detroit), Fabric (London), The End Up (San Francisco), Golden Pudel (Hamburg), Sirup (Zagreb), Weekend Club (Berlin), Cubic Club (Madrid), Space (Ibiza), The Bunker (NYC) and many other venues all over the world. 

Luke’s continued hard work in the studio and in his performances combined with his unyielding interest in technology and sound will no doubt stimulate the boundaries of electronic music.
