Glaswegian tastemaker Arielle Free returns to Defected Records alongside multi-faceted Might Delete Later to deliver ‘Shy’. An accomplished DJ, producer and BBC broadcaster with a distinct house sonic, Arielle’s previous Defected release ‘Feels So Good’ was a 2023 standout, earning support from fellow BBC tastemakers Danny Howard and Jeremiah Asiamah. Her infectious sound has been heard widely across the UK and further afield, including sets at Defected’s biggest parties in 2024 – from their flagship festivals in Croatia and Malta to their open-air Ushuaïa Ibiza residency. Lyrically, ‘Shy’ is inspired by real confessions of insecurity and self-acceptance from an anonymous voicemail, per Might Delete Later’s unique process. Long-time friend of Defected Ferreck Dawn returns with ‘Make Me Weak’, featuring vocals from Caroline Byrne. A Dutch powerhouse who in 2024 played for the London label at Wembley’s OVO Arena, the summer season at Ushuaïa Ibiza, its flagship festival in Croatia and world tour stop in Toulouse, Ferreck continues to rep Defected on an international level - now preparing for the label’s season at Pacha Ibiza. His busy touring schedule was matched by his Defected output, working with Maverick Sabre, New Machine, GUZ, MEDUZA and Clementine Douglas on a string of tracks last year.
