OS Premiere: Delay Grounds - Metal Swinging [Tropopause Records]

Henzo, an artist of ever shifting momentum, has demonstrated his skills on this EP with ease and it is sure to get you grooving to a cold shouldered chug all autumn. 
‘Iron Lighter’ features four sturdy constructed tracks criss-crossed with a heady mix of club influences, as well as encompassing a ferromagnetic remix by Mosca. This whole EP is comfortably sailing in Henzo’s signature style - dancehall indebted slow burners with a touch of distress and drama for good measure - and swagger.

I’m Not Precious (Over What You Call It) moves things to a higher frequency with an opening synth sounding like some beautifully harmonious vocal hit from another plane.

Iron Lighter EP

PREMIERE: Henzo - I'm Not Precious (Over What You Call It) [Left, Right & Centre]

@leshlingi debuts on Scuffed Recordings with three tracks spanning anthemic breaks, wonky UK techno and percussive club music.

Born in Iceland and now based in London, INGI has begun to make a name for himself in the UK’s club scene with his brand of broken UK club music, pulling on influences from across the electronic music spectrum.

His ‘Wrestle’ EP on Fly By Night Recordings was released at the end of 2021 and saw support from the likes of Madam X, Danielle, Anastasia Kristensen, and Frazer Ray.

Starting off proceedings on the EP is the electrifying title track ‘Fade’, anchored around glitched-out vocals and powerful breaks.

Up next is ‘Kurt’, an altogether more leftfield club track with swung percussion, robotic bass stabs, and metallic synth work.

Closing out the release is ‘Point’, whose staccato vocal stabs and rolling percussion pay homage to some of the best of UK techno and bass music.

INGI - Fade EP (Previews)

@sisterzo brings her debut EP to Scuffed Recordings with four tracks of heavy, percussive club music.

Midwesterner Sister Zo has been building a name for herself in recent years as a co-founder of Kansas City’s UN/TUCK label, using her DJ sets and productions as a means of channelling her experiences as a queer trans woman growing up in the North American Bible belt.

As one of the alumni of the Scuffed Recordings Artist Development Scheme, Sister Zo honed her production skills throughout 2021 and the result is the Screw Cheek EP – featuring four moody, bass-heavy tracks.

From the tension-building title track, to the rolling percussion of ‘Don’t Test Me’, to the broken beats of ‘Fire’, and eerie atmospherics of ‘Inhale’, Zo exhibits intricate sound design and carefully-considered production throughout the EP, marking her as a producer to watch in 2022 and beyond.

Egregore Collective is closing this year of releases by crossing the Atlantic with Seattle-based producer Fleksor, long time contributor to the 320 RIP compilation series, with past releases on Main Course Records, Snø Recordings and Knightwerk to name a few.

Inspired both by the frenetic hybridations of 2010’s club music, and the highly curated psychedelia of Seattle’s all-night techno parties, he delivers an assortment of club-ready syncopated bangers across multiple tempos, with a heavy emphasis on textured sound design.

Rounding off the release is a hefty drum'n'bass remix of the title track by our very own Yaxx.
