In an ongoing exploration of the psychedelic music world, Desert Trax is pleased to bring the ‘The Mycelium Is Remixed.’ 

Consisting of six reimagined tracks based on Liquid Bloom & PERE’s 2022 collaboration with famed mycologist Paul Stamets, “The Mycelium Is Listening,” this explorative collection features our favorite submissions from a remix contest hosted by our friends at Guatemala’s Fungi Academy earlier this year.

After receiving countless tracks from producers around the world, we’re excited to present the three winning compositions by Illusive Tuna, CALAGNA, and Ojhro, as well as our favorite runner-up tracks by Subliminull and Desert Trax artists Spice Traders and Tylepathy.

An immersive blend of styles that traverses the realms of liquidy psydub, deep tribal house, ethereal downtempo, and soothing ambient sound, ‘The Mycelium Is Remixed‘ showcases the innovative work of both new and established producers across the globe tapping into the bountiful resources of the natural world.

The depths of Keena Maya's sound are incantations, drawing us down into our roots, grounding us into our bodies, and invoking the incandescent deity within us to rise. She is a sound artist, DJ, producer, and instrumentalist. Her global #BASSBLISS sets revel in the low-end, an organic electronic transmission for heart expansion via the dance floor.  
 
She is one-half of  @being-sound - with her partner @Joro-Boro. Together they perform live #RitualBass.  She is a member of @BAEsound , a feminine powered mindful music collective, a resident of @ecstaticdancenyc, and a contributor to the global Ecstatic Dance community.  

Keena Maya is from Brooklyn and now resides in Hudson, New York, She has performed at  venues like House of Yes,  Knockdown Center, The Sultan Room, The Good Room, Judson Memorial Church, Basilica, PS21, and festivals like Dance Beyond Campout, Dance Medicine Campout, and Impulse Festival.

DJ Big Heart❤️ started novice amateur DJing 20 years ago when he fell in love with electronic dance music. 7 years ago when he had hit rock bottom and was in debilitating chronic physical pain with nowhere to turn, he stumbled upon an ecstatic dance. This dance completely cut DJ Big Heart❤️ wide open to the core and shook his entire being. He started dancing through his pain regularly both at home and in the community. Ecstatic dance has now become his obsession and his way to channel the divine. 5 years ago he started DJing ecstatic dances and in 2023 he formed the organization now known as “Ecstatic Dance Batavia” where he started hosting and DJing ecstatic dances for the community in the Midwest to give back for the healing that he was gifted upon him and to share “the Gospel of ecstatic dance.

California-based DJ Sergey Nahodi has been fascinated by electronic music for as long as he can remember, but his personal journey behind the decks began after his first transformative trip to Burning Man in 2019. Since then, he has immersed himself in mixing and DJing, carving a distinctive path through the vibrant Southern California scene.

Sergey has played across local clubs, regional festivals such as Deserakt, UForest, and Youtopia, as well as multiple camps on the playa, where his sets channel the raw spirit of connection and release. As co-founder of the Spiral DJ Collective, he also curates regular events in Orange County, building a community around sound, movement, and discovery.

Musically, his influences span the powerful drive of techno, the layered depth of progressive and melodic house & techno, and the earthier tones of organic house, downtempo, and tribal afro house. With technical precision and an ambitious curiosity to blur genre boundaries, Sergey crafts immersive journeys that move both body and spirit, guiding listeners through rhythm, melody, and emotion.
