I had my first artist cut in 2012, on my song “Lucky One”, which was recorded by independent artist Mark Roberts on his album "Zero to Sixty".  My live performances have received praise from music industry professionals such as Kenny Edwards of the Stone Poneys, and conductor and music critic Daniel Kepl.  I played six original songs live on television in 2008, a performance which received critical acclaim.

Since 2023, I have co-written songs with 20 different collaborators, and we are steadily getting those songs out into the world.  My latest release, with my co-writer Ira Denis, is titled "Emerald Days", under our project name 'Lights of Egan' (We have also released a second single together this year, titled "Crystal Kinda Girl").

My collaborator Beldon Burch and I have also released "This Time, You're Gonna Get It Right", under our project name DeVries/Burch.

  “This Time, You’re Gonna Get It Right”, our first song collaboration together, is OUT NOW on all streaming platforms.  "This Time..." is a positive, uplifting indie folk/pop tune, with warm, bright vocals, soaring melodies, and lyrics with feeling and meaning.  The song is about new beginnings, learning from mistakes, and turning over a new leaf.

~ Cameron is a singer/songwriter living in Orcutt, CA.  He has performed six of his songs on live television, a performance which received praise from a music critic.  He has also received praise for his songwriting and performances from well known songwriters.  His song “The Lucky Ones”, written in 2007, was recorded by independent music artist Mark Roberts on his album “Zero to Sixty” in 2012. ~ Beldon is a member of the Nashville Songwriter’s Association International, and has been fortunate to have been named New Member of the Year for 2022 and had a song in the TOP TEN in their NSAI Song Contest, ultimately getting “Runner Up”.  NSAI has also placed multiple songs in their Top 40 in Honor of Bob Kingsley along with being named “Ones to Watch” several times.  TAXI has featured one of his songs in their TOP TEN for the month. 
  Beldon’s songwriting strengths are song titles, concepts, and lyrics.  He has played guitar for many years.

Sam Gracie Tillbrook, from London, UK, known professionally as Avid Beats, is a versatile music producer and mixing engineer; singer/songwriter; instrumentalist; and video and podcast editor. His extensive catalogue includes hundreds of original works and collaborations with independent artists and producers from around the world.
 
From a young age, Sam has been captivated by sound. He was inspired to start making music in the summer of 2017, after listening to 2010s EDM and trap music, and wondering how it was made. He instantly felt addicted to the way music allowed him to express himself so freely. The name "Avid" perfectly describes his passion and love for music.
 
Each of Sam's projects tells a specific story. Something he finds when looking back on past creations is the way a piece of work can make him feel the same profound way he did when he made/wrote it. The opportunity to experiment is one of the things he finds most exciting about music and art in general. Sam's creative approach allows him to stay open to hearing and exploring new styles; and pushing boundaries, while retaining his distinctive sound. Sam's love of sound and audio has led him to create his own field recorded and sound designed samples, ranging from drum and percussion hits to melodic elements, which he uses in a multitude of his works. He has published tens of sample packs for producers over the course of a few years.
 
Discussing topics such as mental health, the environment and veganism, Sam's lyrics are authentic and from the heart. He writes many of them in nature, which is one of his biggest inspirations. He also loves to link his emotions and feelings to things that he sees and experiences while spending time in nature. Sam's connection with nature is not limited to music. Since 2023, he has been a key part of the campaign to save his local Park, Whitewebbs, as part of the Guardians of Whitewebbs campaign.

  “Lights of Egan” are an independent singer-songwriter duo, made up of Cameron DeVries and Ira Denis, who blend intimate, soaring indie folk-pop with vintage soft prog rock.  Relying on earnest, heartfelt lyrics, soulful melodies, and expansive soundscapes, this music is warm, uplifting, and sincere; with songs that cut right to the soul of things, bringing listeners into territories of wonder, joy, and emotional warmth & depth.  This is music written to express authentic feelings, to bring the heart back to life, and to reach places within where old wounds can be revitalized.

 The music of Lights of Egan has been described as “Donovan meets Cat Stevens”, and “like a mix of some prog rock bands from the 70s, such as Caravan, and some indy bands like Field Report.”  Listeners have called it “ethereal”; and, a “70s throwback sound in a good way”.  
 
  Ira and Cameron met through SongTown.com in 2023, and immediately formed a connection through music.  They shared a lot of musical common ground, and had similar inclinations in the style of music they wanted to make.  The collaboration started when Ira answered Cameron’s post in a co-writing forum on SongTown.com, where he was looking for co-writers.  Ira shared some lyrics, and Cameron almost immediately began working to put the lyrics of one of Ira’s song ideas to music.  

  After their first song was done, they began working on another song together; and, after the second song was done, they later started working on a third song, and then a fourth.  After beginning to record the songs they’d written together, they settled upon the project name “Lights of Egan”, meant to reflect the earnest, heartfelt, and inspired nature of the songs.  Ultimately, Ira and Cameron feel that the songs they’ve written together are some of the best work each of them have done in their songwriting careers.  

  We are releasing our first single on January 24th, 2025.
