I have been thinking about it a lot and I have decided that DUFFDISCO007 is the last bootleg I am going to press to wax. It's been fun and I hope you all enjoyed them but I think it's the right time to stop. (you can order the last in the series here - http://www.juno.co.uk/ppps/products/450211-01.htm)

I do however want to continue re-imagining songs and giving my interpretation of them for you to play and listen to and so i'll be giving the reworks away for free. I have set up a donations page if anyone wanted to help with covering the costs of mastering future tracks as i'd still want the best sound possible as I can't afford to be paying for it all myself.

So keep an eye out for new tracks! donate whatever you feel appropriate, of course you can still download if you can't afford to donate.

Blue skies and late nights, camp fires and cheap delights and whisky drained straight from the jar. In a hammock slung below a sky of dreams and sea of stars lay a pop princess and a hip hop pioneer, arms entwined and eyes locked into each other’s stare they whisper sweet –nothings to each other, “You’re flash” he says “take it slow” she purrs back “and don’t even don’t think about going down under!”
 
A mile or two out to sea, floats what has come to be known as a mega-yacht. Aboard his life like an episode of MTV Cribs but with more parties and less gold-encrusted pool tables. Surrounded by beauties by the bevy and sipping on gin and juice, Duff scans the horizon with his telescope (solid platinum, encrusted with diamonds, built in infa red) and spies young love or a new hope. Smiling to himself he thinks “they look different, younger perhaps at least changed, if not for the better but changed at least which is surely a good thing”. He turns to the girls on the boat, one hand pointing to the shore and the other raising his drink to the sky he shouts “I helped create that”

Three years on from the release of Rhys Adams aka YesKing's 'Re-Record… Not Fade Away', we are delighted to live up to the album's title by presenting two previously unheard remixes of standout tracks 'Hardground' and 'Overproof'.
Featuring heart-stopping vocals by Mel Uye-Parker & Rioghnach Connolly, 'Hardground' was the album's lead single and it's easy to see why. Bittersweet, understated atmospheres call to mind vintage Massive Attack and Portishead, while Rhys's deft arrangement builds the track into a horn and drum-laden epic. Providing a vintage version in their own unique style, legends in their own bath-time Crazy P are first up on remix duties. Surely one of the best live acts on the planet right now, the UK outfit's rework is full of funky guitar licks, classic piano chords and live percussion, creating a disco-crossover anthem of sizeable proportions. Staying in the disco/house arena, engineer and producer O. De Lanzac turns in a silky-smooth version, with eerie chords underpinned by a rock-solid bassline, calling to mind the eclectic, soulful brilliance of her 2012 BBE debut ‘Uncut’. 
Displaying an affectionate tip-of-the-hat to 'Ghost Town' by The Specials, 'Overproof' is surely one of the best loved and most-played cuts on 'Re-Record… Not Fade Away'. DJ and edit maestro Sam Redmore raises the tempo a little whist somehow smoothing the track out at the same time, retaining the blissful dubbed-out vibe of the original version. Listen to Sam's subtle retouch of 'Overproof' and it's clear to see why the Birmingham native can count Craig Charles and Gilles Peterson among his ever-growing number of fans.

here's my 2nd remix for the album "The Havana Remixes" by Bahama Soul Club. Out May 12th vinyl, CD and digital files.

"Hot on the heels of their critically praised album "Havana '58" and with fans worldwide clamoring for more, The Bahama Soul Club has now called upon a brilliant range of producers, DJs and artists to put their own personal spin on Bahama's latest release. Sifting through the album's finest moments they worked their magic on selected tracks and rebooted them into pure rhythmic bliss: "The Havana Remixes" is a bright collection of Latin, House, Jazz, Funk, Soul & Disco with a thoroughly modern take on Dancefloor Jazz.

Opener "Muévelo Papi" is a stirring 60s Boogaloo-hip-twist by the mighty Club Des Belugas, while Geordie mate Smoove from Newcastle turns “No Words” into a fusion of Jazz-house and Breakbeat. Opolopo pulls "Dizzy's Bounce" deeeep into jazzy House while Maestro&Vezzola and Chinchin's Zouzoulectric vs. Gardener Of Delight both having a diverse view on "Tropicana Flight", giving it a Disco-Latin-House-Funk treatment.
Suonho from Italy jams a more modern Soul-Disco-Funk on "No Words" and amps up the funk quotient on "Muévelo Papi" with a touch of Jazz and a Latin Twist. Rounding off the release is an unexpected Nu-skool Brazilika-brukbeat from Positive Flow aka Jesse Reuben Wilson on "Elegguà" and some solid Latin funky breaks from Jack&Jointz on the rolling "Rumba Fugaz".

All remixes are mastered by The Uncle and very special radio-edits were made exclusively for the beautiful 180g vinyl. Containing nine tracks, this 12" looks like a neat introduction for newcomers and a nice round up for long-term Bahama Soul Club admirers. The full extended versions of all remixes will be released on CD and Digital formats."
