N'vi'ah is an Old Testament word meaning prophetess. 
A prophetess conveys one or more divine messages often in the form of inspired songs. And many times her words are cryptic, requiring interpretation or even translation. This work uses isolated phonemes as musical material. Intelligible words are not articulated, leaving to the listener the imagination of what their contents and meanings could be. N'vi'ah was commissioned by the Ibermúsicas Project, and composed at the Human Interaction Laboratory - Diego Portales University in Santiago de Chile. It is dedicated to Federico Schumacher.

"ROSSANA" è il titolo del nuovo lavoro di Francesco Perissi XO. Il nome di una persona cara scomparsa racchiude un immaginario simbolico della sfera emozionale dell’affettività, spesso segnata dal dolore della separazione e dal brivido dell’incontro, dall’impulso distruttivo e quello costruttivo, dalla paura e dalle fragilità.
CONCEPT - La descrizione di questi processi avviene attraverso 5 fasi progressive che descrivono il superamento di un evento traumatico: negazione, rabbia, patteggiamento, depressione, accettazione. All’interno di questa struttura due brani interpretanoe con la musica e testi le impressioni e le sensazioni di ogni fase, nell'idea di una dimensione “catartica” della musica.

Inspired by the trailblazing work of artist Miriam Schapiro, warp & weft is a celebration of the creative process and specifically the Schapiro-coined term “femmage.” Femmage, or feminist collage, defines any activity practiced by women using traditional women’s techniques to achieve their art—collage, decoupage, and weaving, just to name a few. Schapiro used the term to elevate the significance of women’s crafting in the home which was historically denigrated as “decorative” art compared to predominantly male artists whose pieces were classified as “high” art. The form and content of warp & weft is particularly inspired by the art of weaving. I visualized a loom and the act of weaving while composing, where the weft (horizontal axis of the loom) is represented by sections dedicated to gradually developing melodies, and the warp (vertical axis of the loom) depicts the sections identified by strong vertical chords. Throughout the piece, I imagine Schapiro’s studio, full of color, various materials, and ideas, swirling around in a fantastical way as she moves from medium to medium celebrating the history and artistic viewpoints of women past, present, and future.

Diego Ratto, an Italian composer and sound designer currently based in Los Angeles, CA, boasts a diverse portfolio spanning film music, acousmatic compositions, music for video games, video-art installations, and concert music.

He holds a PhD in Music Composition from the University of California, Santa Barbara (UCSB). His educational journey includes studying film scoring at UCLA and completing a Master of Music in electroacoustic composition at the Royal College of Music in Stockholm (KMH). He also received separate Bachelor of Music degrees in jazz guitar and electronic music from the Music Conservatory "A. Vivaldi" in Alessandria, Italy.

His compositions have been selected in several international calls for works and have won awards in competitions such as: Prix Russolo 2022, Sound of Silences - Film Scoring / Romaeuropa Festival 2020, Prix CIME 2017 - International Confederation of Electroacoustic Music, WOCMAT 2018 International Phil Winsor Computer Music Competition, ULJUS 2024, Reel Loud Festival 2024, ULJUS 2023, Corwin Award 2023, IEMC 2022, Prix Russolo 2024, Golden Lala Awards 2020, Musicworks Magazine Electronic Music Contest 2020, Rimusicazioni Film Festival 2018, and Electroacoustic Contest EFME 2016 (Santa Fe, Argentina). In June 2018, he was offered an artistic residency at the prestigious ICST - Institute for Computer Music and Sound Technology (ZHdK) in Zurich.

In 2021, he was awarded a Fulbright scholarship to study Music Composition in the United States of America.
