"Oblivion" is the main theme to a "Effluvium", an upcoming text-based horror game in which you control Jacob Hunter. A tortured ex-priest recovering from alcoholism, Jacob wakes one up day to find that the rehab center he is staying at has somehow been transformed into a twisted, hellish version of itself. A former exorcist, he must rise above the demons that seek to destroy the rehab center, and the demons within his own soul. 

Probably the most unique and interesting aspect of "Effluvium" are the mechanics revolving around drinking alcohol. Drinking allows Jacob to take less damage in combat, take insane risks, and make choices he otherwise wouldn't while sober. But since he is a recovering alcoholic, it weakens his spiritual power and makes it more difficult to exorcise demons and solve puzzles...

My mind is uncontained
It takes over my brain
Sanity, madness has now slain
The only sensation left is pain

Of body and mind
Pours out in time
Forever lost never to find
It has begun, the infinite decline

Now resigned to this fate
Now in this place, I can never vacate
No other path exists to take
I've begun to bleed, it is too late

Anger grows deep within
Flowing out it must begin
My fatal hope is my end
So alone I feel, without a friend

Only foes round about
Inside and out they scout
In time I shall be found out
Of their success I have no doubt

Scavenging on what is left
Free for the taking it is no longer theft
This life I live I wish were death
If only I could endlessly hold my breath

Innate this reality
My thoughts shattered by duality
Split and broken a living fatality
Wander along in this flesh that is mortality

Try so hard to find thoughts of light
As I trudge through an eternal night
If only I had wings I would take flight
Woe is me for this is my plight

Never known and never was
Always seeking without a cause
As I crash I hear only their applause
Entranced, they pause

To bear witness to my demise
Dead, but still so alive
Ever moving, but paralyzed
Try so hard but can never cry

Beg and moan begin to plea
They scoff, they laugh, they jeer at me
Putrid faces rounded out with glee
They know nothing of sympathy

As each eviscerates me with their stinger
The hurt so bad, forever shall linger
At whom do I point my finger
Ah, at him that is the bringer

Tis I, the cannibal that is to blame
For that which consumes me is my timeless shame
I, the source of this stain
In place of tears I have only cold rain

Add to this, compounded guilt
This the source of my gilt
Wallow around in my own filth
Risen up to the hilt

Who is left for me to whine
All alone, but for perhaps the divine
The truth comes out, it is I that binds
The monsters within are me and mine
