Juana is a DJ and producer hailing from the city of Chicago and has been DJing house, techno, and disco parties since roughly 2001. Juana started obsessively collecting disco and early house records in the late 90s and eventually developed an undying penchant for proper techno and darker shades of Chicago underground acid and deep house of the 80s and 90s. Juana moved to DC in 2003 and began hosting weekly live internet radio shows and playing parties in the deep house scene. Over the past several years, Juana has made her mark as primarily a techno DJ, making regular appearances at BASEMENT in New York as well as Berghain. She is a founding member of the DC QT BIPOC collective NOXEEMA JACKSON. As a producer, she has released music independently, and on the Bound label, TRAX ONLY, World Building, and Perimeter Junk.

Concrete Tbilisi Podcast 090 - Juana

More local talent this week on the AF Podcast with Harry Mawby bringing some solid Techno for episoide 70.

Glasgow-based Harry Mawby has been involved with the city’s techno scene for more than half a decade, working behind the scenes to deliver popular events including Return to Mono, Pressure and Riverside Festival before starting to DJ.

Harry’s interest in electronic music developed from a passion to a vocation during his time as an intern at renowned label Soma Records in 2017, and since then he has gone from strength to strength at Slam Events working closely with industry legends Dave Clarke and DJ duo Slam to help spearhead the raw hypnotic techno sound. In the midst of lockdown, he reconnected with vinyl record collecting thanks to friends at Rubadub and set his sights on making his own mixes. His debut set at Sub Club in 2023, warming up the prestigious Return To Mono night, showcased his own blend of Berlin-influenced techno and hypnotic beat soundscapes, and was followed by an inaugural Clyde Built Radio mix in October that year.

BIO:
Daniel has had a passion for Techno music since childhood. In 2021, he decided to embark on a musical journey as Lutzfire, experiencing many thrilling moments as a DJ and budding producer. He is currently based in the center of Poland. Over the past three years, Lutzfire has had the honor of performing at notable venues such as the Ciało club in Wroclaw and the LAS Festival in Paczyn. During this time, he released his first EP, CAMINO, with another one already on the way.

Drawing inspiration from various artists, Lutzfire continually develops his unique approach, blending different elements and styles of techno music. After three years, Daniel decided to take a step forward by performing live using his hardware instruments and modular system. Building his first modular system and discovering it every day significantly enhanced his creativity, further motivating him to continue working.

Having cut his teeth in the tougher fringes of the electronic gameʼs spectrum under a flurry of aliases in the past, Miro Pajic went on to write new material in the guise of MSDMNR in more recent years, releasing a handful of satisfyingly sturdy but hyper dynamic releases via his eponymous imprint, eventually taking his inimitable jagged and reverb-soaked signature to 30D Records in 2020 with the streamlined ʻEmergencyʼ EP followed by releases on HAYES, MindTrip, Jonas Kopp's TREMSIX, Kaiser's KSR and Illegal Alien Records. OPH is a French-born DJ and producer based in Berlin, recognized for his dedication to vinyl and his deep connection to the city’s techno culture. His journey began in Lyon, where he was active as a music journalist and ran a webzine focused on the local scene. In 2014 he moved to Berlin, a decisive step that allowed him to immerse himself in the city’s clubs and to start playing regularly.

Over the years, OPH has shaped his sound through record digging and a broad musical background, channeling these influences into sets that balance intensity and emotion. This approach has brought him to play acclaimed closing sets at Berghain and RSO.

Beyond his solo work, he performs alongside his close friend Chami in their Face 2 Face project. Together they have played at iconic venues such as Berghain, Bassiani and Womb in Japan.

Augusto, known as Rorschack, was born in Taranto in 1985 into a family of musicians. Mastering keyboards and drums from an early age, he transitioned to DJing, refining his skills in Rome and Florence before joining the Timeless crew in 2013, as well as Subwoofer and LGBTQI parties. His eclectic style blends electronic, techno, fast future-techno, and psytrance, earning him performances at prestigious venues like FOLD London, Tresor, and Gare Porto.
