Ideas For Iteration Two:

Layer improvised polyrhythms underneath the soundscape.
Place large piano chords in during the breaks, light distortion, massive reverb.
Let layers reach a climax and transition into a new part.
Keep the beat prominent, allow the piano/synth layers to clash.
Possibly change tempo and tonic during the transition.
Arpeggiated embelishments in the first section during the breaks.
Allow the soundscape mix to drown out the hi-hats somewhat.
Lower the kick volume.
Make the subtle glitch movements more prominent.
Add slight melodic movement under the initial introduction to make it more interesting.
Add some drops.
