James Benjamin is a co-owner of Montreal's Breakglass Studios and a prolific music producer, Grammy-winning audio engineer, mixer, and composer. In over a decade at Breakglass, he's collaborated with notable artists like Kaytranada, Purity Ring, Lunice, Bianca Oblivion, Anna Morgan, Honeydrip, and more and has crafted a distinctive signature sound—bass-heavy, vocal-forward, and genre-fluid music—that sets dance floors ablaze during his DJ sets. In 2023, he achieved a breakthrough as an artist, releasing a debut LP "The Boogieman and Samito Mixtape'' with his analog dance duo Boogieman and Samito via Urbnet Records. As James Benjamin, he released a series of well-received edit packs culminating in the release of an EP called “Dance Beyond Genre vol. 1” composed of two brand new edits and two originals “Team Break” and “Ancillary Things”

Arthr was born from a love of live performance, electronic & experimental music and animation that comes to life through an animated character - Arthr.
 
The ‘Arthr sound’ has been developed through an exploration of powerful film scores as well as dreamy, gritty electronic & experimental music. It’s a varied mix in terms of genre, brought together by similar themes such as melody, keys and live percussion that run throughout.

'Arthr Live’ is driven by all original music and video content, reconstructed and remixed live, to create a unique narrative to the performance. Re-creating these elements in a live format, where visual performance is as important as the music itself, means Arthr as a character/collection of ideas translates into the club, festival & live environment.

Luftrum is a Danish sound designer, crafting auditory magic since 2008. 

From chasing elusive harmonies on synths to creating innovative Kontakt libraries, his work is used and endorsed by a diverse range of artists, from aspiring bedroom producers to Grammy and Oscar winners. 

Luftrum has collaborated with industry giants like Apple, Steinberg and Native Instruments.

Hey, Gareth here, I'm a graphic designer who start designing for clubs, parties, and labels in the late 90s. Back then, mix CDs were the holy grail of both design and music. I loved them.

But I wasn't the only one, mix cds were the soundtracks of our nights, our days, our afterparties and lives, for everyone. Yet in today's internet age, the art form has been lost (or just changed) to 2-3 hour online mixes and streaming videos, which just don't create the same magic your CD collection did. Just 60 minutes of music and incredible artwork.

The Classic Mix CD Series celebrates these discs, their soundtrack, their box art and your memories. We hope you enjoy it.

As a young designer, club and music culture was the driving force for his work, producing artwork for local club nights and record labels in the North East of England. In particular, DJ mix cds and their packaging were always his 'holy grail of design', especially those from Renaissance, Global Underground and Good Looking Records. It's a pleasure to share these discs back with people and they still influence our tastes to this day.

Cinematic electronica's chief complainer.  Andy Dobson has been recording as Digitonal since the late 90s.  Part of the late phase of UK melodic electronica, he came to prominence on the seminal Toytronic Records label with a track on the Neurokinetic compilation and a debut album on the label shortly afterwards.  Since then he has recorded for Seed Records, Cactus Island, Uncharted Audio, B12 and Just Music who released Save Your Light for Darker Days in 2008, followed by a retrospective compilation.  Alongside frequent collaborator, Egyptian violinist Samy Bishai, and a flexible array of band members, Digitonal have toured extensively and have been in demand as a live act, known for their improvised sets of great range and beauty.
