The crown prince of Germany's Italo/Electro scene takes the reins for our latest mix. Whether it's his solo endeavours or his excellent Tuff City Kids collabs with Gerd Janson and Black Spuma project alongside Fabrizio Mammarella, he's a producer who always delivers, taking the sounds of the '80s and bringing them bang up to date. 

*How would you describe your sound?*
Dance music between Italo, House, Electro, Synth, Rave, Acid and a little Techno .. mostly leaning towards 80ies sound.. maybe

*What and who inspires you and influences your sound?* 
I guess listening to music since being a kid and one specific and very forming influence was DJ Ata in the early days of the  Robert Johnson Club .. I guess that place in general.. i spent so many nights there.

*Can you tell us a little about this mix and what it means to you?*
My first 12" release came out 25 years ago ..and when i stumbled across your idea (from a few years back) to record a 100% Lauer music mix i thought: now is the time !   I tried to cover most periods featuring  some personal faavourites of mine.. and some "hits" ..  Its a bit random .. but  i feel it is a good representation of what   i did in the last years... hehe

When GLADE GLASTO got in touch wanting a DJ to bridge the gap from dub into house straight after the one & only Prince Fatty at Glade Dome, I jumped at the chance to play as LOST IN DUB for the very first time. Dub has always been my first love and the inspirartiion behind pretty much everything I do as a DJ even though I’ve spent a lifetime in house music. So, if I’m going to stand up there at Glastonbury then it can only be done properly offering some respect to the roots.

Thanks to all the teachers and dub pioneers who really deserve the attention. It was a joy to drop selections from my musical heroes including Jah Shaka - forever remembered and the sound of my youth - alongside other greats including Mad Professor, Channel One, Manasseh, Prince Fatty, Kibir La Amlak, Alpha & Omega +++ before delving into some dub house & dub techno which could have run & run...

Release Info:
Straight after his contribution to the splendid Delusions of Grandeur compilation and collaboration with Sebastien Vorhaus aka “Soul of Hex” as well as his latest EP's on the Russian “Capital Bass” label and "Swedish Brandy" Ponty Mython is back with a full swung EP packed with cosmic deep house tunes.

“How To Get Your Life Together And Succeed” sets the pace for the record, bringing together a kaleidoscope of sounds in Ponty Mython’s signature style, soul meets dance floor punch. “Changes We Go Through” oozes hip shaking appeal, a deep and sleazy bass line leads the charge on this bumping house track. “Watch Over Him” slows things down a touch with live funk and jazz licks conjuring images of session musicians jamming in a smokey club, urging you to get down.

On the top of the B-side, we have man of the moment Red Rack’em who delivers a wonderfully “Wonky” house remix in his very unique style, casually combining elements from three of the originals. Next up we have “Love Is Not A Thing”, another body moving sultry deep house offering, dripping with soul, as easy vocals ramble over lazy keys and lively percussion. Finally, easing us to the end of our outing in the sonic stratosphere is “Lopp 17”, back in the funk realm, with some tropical percussion thrown in and a steady grooving bottom end to keep heads nodding right to the last moment.

All in all one of the most exciting and Musical records we have ever released .. and with 3 tracks per side this is somehow more a mini Album than EP .
