Meet our friend Aymeric or better known as Emilio van Rijsel. Despite his playful alias, he turns out to be a serious Italo Disco afficionado and a committed crate digging enthusiast whose wide array of influences ranges from cheesy 1980’s Synth-Pop, to classic blissful Trance as well as dark and raw EBM. His work has been recognised and released on iconic labels such as Italo Moderni, Paradiso Records, CDH or the promising Ulla Records based in Toulouse, the city where Emilio is sending this beautiful Trance and EBM packed mix from.

Sharif Laffrey has been playing all over the place for 20 long hard years. Born in Detroit, Michigan - he's worked on The Line & at Submerge, toured asia with Juan Atkins and once had to chase a grown man through the streets at night after the man crawled into his living room through an open window. *He* was also once chased by a man with a knife. An active member in Detroit's early rave scene he still lives with the fear that one day someone will develop the 8mm film that was taken during some of those nights and put it on youtube. Sharif remembers booking all international gigs exclusively with something he calls a "Fax Machine" - He says there was "no internet" then. He also had a beeper (pager) and drove a Trans-Am. Not ironically. "I like Acid House." 
Sharif Laffrey realeased TURN IT UP on Discos Capablanca to massive praise, he is dealing with The Fame since then.

This time last year I was on my way to the Waiting Room while I was tuned in to Capital Xtra when I was blasted by a guest mix which sounded utterly insane. I found out it was Alinka and Shaun J Wright putting together the mix and i was hooked. 
Twirl is becoming something of a stateside institution in terms of the releases being put out and it is easy to see this one being played out for months to come.
