The tape recorder was running, this was about 3a.m. on a Chicago night 2001. My friday night party, "The Hole". We did this party for about a year in Chicago, it was private. I gave Toby many of these recordings, he named this tape like many back then I made by what songs struck him the most. This night is so clear still, many great moment and memories This first from the main boxes of my cassette collection will be an endless series of tape transfers of my music journey through life.

José Padilla was and still is a huge influence on me as a DJ, in particular his early to mid nineties period as resident DJ at the now iconic Café Del Mar in Ibiza, where he would provide an eclectic, emotive, chilled and yet simultaneously powerful soundtrack to the setting sun. Anyone who was fortunate enough to be there back in the day will eagerly testify that they experienced something truly special. José sadly passed away in 2020, his musical legacy and pioneering spirit will live on. 
This mix is a loving tribute to José Padilla - The Godfather Of Chill
