Jazz musician Gary Bartz has a classic song from way back in 1977 that says" Music is my sanctuary, music is my life." I've always loved that jam but I understand what Mr. Bartz was talking about now more than ever. Music is definitely my "Sanctuary."  The crazier things seem to get out here, the deeper I find myself diving into this music. I said all of that to say that "Volume 10" probably shouldn't be dropping so soon after "VS9" but I literally woke up in the middle of the night thinking about some of these tunes (I had to Play). While this set has some classic anthems, it's also sprinkled with an eclectic 'newbie' here or there. "This Can't Be Life" is one of those songs that's been playing over and over in my head since I received it a couple of weeks ago. This lyrics deserve at least a second listen and Swaylo's voice is simply divine. The tunes got little "Deeper" in the middle of the mix and towards the end we had to venture to the old "Shelter" in NYC with the help of Joe Claussell and Quentin Harris' amazing remixes. I hope you all enjoy the music...

I've been out of town away from my music for a few weeks, so I decided to clean out an old music laptop and I found this mix from 2013. At the time I only put it up on my Youtube channel and it has since been blocked in the U.S. for many years. I totally forgot about it! It was one of my Favorite sets at the time so I really hope you guys enjoy this musical "Rewind."

(Original Description):

Wow, The Summer of 2013 had some Amazing Highs as well as some Major Challenges but then again that's Life! A high point for sure was Our second DJ trip to Beijing China for The Detroit Series (A monthly DJ event that features DJ's from Detroit). I was able to play another Four Hour Set of some of my favorite tunes and meet some fantastic people along the way. So with all of this "Life Happening" stuff I haven't produced a Mix in nearly 3 months, so This Mix is long Over Due! :-)

"Music is Life" features some New Gems by some Major Players: Ralf Gum, Tortured Soul with Black Coffee and DJ Husky just to name a few... I have redone my Studio so I plan on getting back on track with my Remix Production. (Fingers Crossed)

Some of my friends over in South Africa use the term "Expensive Music" when referring to a great song. This Mix definitely has some expensive music in it (IMO) songs that make you feel good and smile way down on the inside. "Gems" by the legendary Kevin Hedge of Blaze, Richard Earnshaw and super producers: Reel People just to name a few. So put the sunroof back and roll those windows down if you're driving in you car and turn it up load if you're at home, either way let's shake off anything that's  ailing us and let's get ready to Dance like no one is watching...

Wow, Including my "Warm Up" Vinyl Mix that I did on June 29th 2020 this is my 12th all vinyl mix in under a year. That's a lot of music! As you can tell I've been bitten by that "Vinyl Bug" all over again. I guess one of the things that I like about playing vinyl is it really makes me stretch musically. I mean I'm playin' stuff from the late 90's all the way up to current day stuff that I picked up last week. My playlists are way more random but to me thats all part of the fun. "Volume 11" is no exception, I started it off with a brand new one from Jerome Sydenham called "Trans Afro Express" a take from Kraftwerk's classic from the late 1970's. I also played a couple of remixes from Timmy Regisford (I love playing his stuff) and finished off the set with a smooth banger from Trinidadian Deep. With some really nice grooves sprinkled in between, See, I told you that vinyl makes you Dig! So thank all of you guys for riding along with me with this "Vinyl Sessions" thing. I really do appreciate all of your passionate Support of The Music!!!

This is my first mix of 2022 and of course its a Vinyl Session. As you guys can tell, I'm addicted to the vinyl all over again (LOL). "VS14" starts off with two of my all time favorites and two songs that truly convey a positive message that we can take with us throughout the year. "In Time" reminds us that all things are working together for our good. And "Days Like This" simply reminds us to really appreciate each and every day that we are given. Each Vinyl Session seems to have a different vibe and some different twists and turns but they all are just so much fun to create. I never know where I'm going to end up musically speaking. It was 1980 in Detroit Michigan where I first fell in Love with this Music. I was 13 years old and the Music of Choice for Me and my Friends was Progressive Dance Music. We didn't know it at the time but We were actually creating a Musical Lifestyle of sorts that would follow many of us the rest of our lives.

Sure there would be periods when no music was bought and no new mixes were produced, but time would go by and before you knew it This Music Thing would just Grab hold to Me again...

In 2012 My Musical Journey started again! This dance music would prompt me to start mixing on the web via my YouTube Channel with over 45K followers, and Soundcloud with over 5K and counting... This music would even take me around the U.S and as far away as Beijing China to DJ (Twice). I'm  really excited now more than ever because I am are currently living in Miami and DJing at my residency at N'Namdi Contemporary Gallery.
