The second album from Silhouette, ‘Hůrka’ sees the Czech producer & DJ venture further from ambient music than his debut, ‘Lost In The Circle’ (Krmelec Recordings, 2018) while remaining an artistically descriptive body of music.

‘Hůrka’ transcribes the landscapes of the Šumava region in the West of the Czech Republic into strident dance music laden with field recordings. Although the Bohemian forest, honeycombed with untamed rivers and hills, is a far cry from the dancefloors which ‘Hůrka’ seems primed for, Silhouette’s collection of field recordings encourages the mind to wander to pristine yet foreboding landscapes.

Drawing influence from prime-era minimalistic dubtechno (‘Closer To The Edge) to the darker shades of techno (‘Razor Thin’), house, breakbeat (‘Forgotten Dream’) and even dubstep, Silhouette weaves across the plateaus of modern dance music while remaining faithful to the image of pastoral landscapes that inspired the piece, with field recordings coming to the fore throughout more downtempo tracks such as ‘Calm Down’ and ‘Rainfall’.

The resulting body of work is balanced, bearing echoes of Silhouette’s previously released efforts while simultaneously pushing the project’s sound into new and expansive realms.

A DJ and producer hailing from the northernmost borders of the Czech Republic, Kletis finds inspiration in the rainy forest where he resides. His sound is a reflection of life's melancholy, primarily delving into deep music and seamlessly crossing genres like techno, ambient, drone, and halftime drum and bass.

Kletis began his production journey in the early 2010s, drawing significant influence from the original sounds of dubstep and UK garage. Over the past decade, he has released numerous singles and EPs, both digitally and physically, on various platforms and labels worldwide. His debut album, Black Rainbow, released on his own imprint DOLEC, showcases a blend of genres and moods, featuring darkened half-tempos, steps, breakbeats, and techno, all enriched with unique rhythms and atmospheres.

In addition to his solo work, Kletis is a key member of the Shotgun Festival crew, known for organizing outdoor festivals, warehouse events, and club parties. As a DJ, he curates sets that focus on techno tools, the melodic and hypnotic sides of techno, industrial atmospheres, and ambient tracks.
