FINROD+GALADRIEL

Amateurish stuff about the Silmarillion, no intent to infringe JRRT


The refrain follows the first four lines of the poem of the Eärendillinwë that Frodo heard when he walked off for a minute during the evening in Rivendell and suddenly heard Elvish voices chanting.  The remainder of the piece is intended to shift into sort of a theme of the Silmarillion overall (sort of a cinematic theme) and doesn't follow the rest of poem's words.
Sharp listeners will note a few influences:

1) the spots where it seems to pause are the short bit of music when Aragorn tries to give back the Evenstar to Arwen, shortly after the halfway point of the Two Towers movie (when we had discs it was a minute or 2 into the 2nd disc after Eowyn gives Aragorn the rabbit stew ("The Evenstar does not wax or wane...").  With a triumphal major-key phrase-ending intended for Beren & Luthien that differs from the Two Towers phrase.

2) a few places I borrow from the Returner's Hideout theme in Final Fantasy 6.

Dissatisfaction Expands To The Available Space

A very short ambient/jazz track with some pads in it

It is sort of like, supposed to be a cutesy update of the little amusing short piano thing in Winger's apartment before he does the pushups at the beginning of Stripes(1981) with Bill Murray.  That they play for about 2 loops.  I know how to play that by ear too and get good satisfaction out of that just laughing at it.

This one per the cover art is sort of an update to Soyjak life in current-day dystopia industrialized cities or something.  He's got his little delusion graphic in his head that things are fine and reality is the smog etc.

I'm So Done (Original Mix)

A new version of the Eärendillinwë  that I earlier released 10 months ago, but
in pure piano form, so that people can hear the chord structure
better, with a more relaxed pace where I could put the
phrases that were missing from the first one.

When I recorded in summer 2022 I had the metronome click
on and felt rushed for time - this version puts some good
things back into it.  Those with a good ear for cinematic
music will note that I am borrowing the ending phrase partly
from a scene in Richard III (1955) with Laurence Olivier.
Those who don't know it - go watch the movie.  You'll instantly
recognize where I pulled this from.

All rights reserved to the Tolkien Estate and whoever currently
holds the music rights to the Richard III movie.  This is very
pointedly a non-monetized, free track.  Just as the earlier version.

The Great March

The Middle Eight of Mach Rider's Main Tune for original 8-bit NES.

All rights reserved to Nintendo and the original composer (Hideki Kanazashi)
No intent to infringe, free track for all.

Middle 8 is kind of a misnomer it's longer than 8 measures but it's accurate enough as "the part you don't normally hear until you're advanced into something"  As this tune only played if you were at least 8 courses into the game's progression.  When the ruins are replaced by futuristic buildings on the horizon.

Dedicated to all of those who are headed either direction on I-5 into Seattle at around exit 190's ish not really obeying 80 MPH in the left lane.  We know who you are.  A significant fraction of you are humming exactly this portion.

Performed manually without any arpeggiation, from memory.  It's a little glitchy but it's the fondness for it that counts.

In March 2023, under the warm and golden embrace of the setting sun, we found ourselves at the breathtaking Tiniri Camp in the south of Tunisia. 

The ever-shifting dunes served as the canvas for our live set, capturing the essence of an extraordinary time spent in the Sahara desert. Our performance is a tribute to the very pulse of nature and our connection to it through electronic and organic music.

Synopsis:
While exploring this alien planet, IO found itself drawn to a foreboding location known as the "Belly of the Beast." A place known for its treacherous path filled with dangerous traps and unknown creatures lurking within its depths. It is said that this location will test the courage and resilience of any who dares to enter.

Belly is the third of 10 tracks for the IO-01 album. The song intends to push the listener deeper into a strange and chaotic alien world in which IO must navigate and survive. It follows the monomyth (belly of the beast) for both the musical artist and the main character.

"Silence" is the 2nd track from Crash Landed's "Paris" EP. The song is about finding calm after busy social times, letting go of society's expectations, and focusing on what really matters. Imagery in the lyrics like fading laughter and empty glasses shows how short-lived and shallow party joy can be.
