During these very odd days of potential strife 
I found myself questioning
Is a nut pick generally
A Southern grandma's swiss army knife
A Venn circle diagram of this phrase
Gets us into a weird area
As the coppers rode the tram to the site of the blaze
Perhaps it's all just a cultural hysteria

Middle-tier’s a mirage 
Luxury floats, the bottom scrapes, and the middle gets juiced
It does little good to ape Nigel Farage
More direct methods are needed when hell is loosed

The protesters' tract had on its cover
"Intellectual hipsterism for compulsive contrarians."
And our boys had begun to have read they discovered
Its contents were spastically argumentarian
And tended to passively malign

A sign on the road said

They were out this fine morning to protest
In support of the man who'd genetically engineered the best
Mutton from Brighton to Brest

I wanted to jump in and attack the throng
But being too early is the same as being wrong

By following the advice of my uniformed cute little bird
I directed to circle the wagons and shoot inward

She screechingly directed the troops 
But they fell short of breaching the barrier
Ask a woman their pronouns
If you don't like their fashion sense
They'll coldly try harder if not merrier

A struggling lunatic raved out clear
If you need some cringe shock therapy, I'm here for you bro
As the lieutenant drew herself up like a pro
Her assailant exclaimed
Where'd her tits go
She fired back Sir, you are in love with a brassiere.

We gradually defeated this truculent horde 
Only to subsequently find
Cassowaries on our left, kangaroos on our right
And the Angel of Death behind

Captain Planet he's our hero
Gonna take the TFR to zero
And after the few have undertaken to bury our bones
They'll finally speak truth about the Georgia Guidestones

My sense of humor, bleak though it be
Saw me through the stress of that misery

Kooks Dan’o is the stage name of American singer‑songwriter Daniel S. Passarini.  Based in Johnstown, Colorado, he describes himself as “just a guy, writing & recording music in his home studio.” Since 2021 he’s self‑released a prolific catalog of albums and singles, including Landings (2021), Elements of Past Static Debris (2022), Songs for Lulu, Terra Firma, Single Track Mind, and Islands of Ataraxia (all 2023). His sound blends rock, country, indie and folk‑singer‑songwriter styles, with introspective lyrics and intimate home‑studio production.

Kooks Dan’o’s catalog is built around intimate, guitar‑centered songs that pull from a mix of folk, country, indie and rock, often with a lo‑fi, “bedroom” production aesthetic and deeply introspective lyrics. Across all of these genres, the throughline is Dan’o’s personal, reflective lyrics—meditations on love, loss and longing—wrapped in warm, guitar‑first productions that feel both honest and home‑made. 

Dan’o’s lyrical voice is defined by: natural imagery (storms, oceans, seasons, dust, echoes), melancholic honesty about love, self-doubt, and loss, and a minimalist, poetic style with lines that feel like secrets whispered into tape.

By all accounts, Kooks Dan’o isn’t flaunting flashy shred—he’s a songwriter first, and his guitar work is solid, tasteful and service‑oriented. Kooks Dan’o’s guitar playing — particularly in the context of home‑studio, singer‑songwriter production — is confident and versatile—never ostentatious, but always perfectly pitched to serve the song. 

 Fans have highlighted Dan’o’s intimate, laid‑back performance, strong melodic sense and polished yet personal production, likening his work to cherished folk‑rock and indie‑country touchstones.

After a nearly two-year break, Kooks Dan’o has three projects currently lined up and in the works: two unique concept albums, as well as a “Live at Home” acoustic performance album with accompanying video series. Look for these projects to be available sometime in 2026 and/or 2027.

“Between winter and paradise” was written by Fátima Rocío Peralta García. I also contributed to the creation of an Akkuaria anthology.

In particular, I was awarded third prize ex aequo at the first annual “Tribute to Emilio Greco” Literary Award on 18 December, 2010, in Catania and at the International Competition of Poetry, Prose, Figurative Arts La Finestra Eterea, I received 2nd place for both single poem of the 2015 edition and the 2017 Lilith edition, and 4th place in the 2019 edition for Carillon.

On 24 November 2018 in Forte dei Marmi, I received a diploma of honour with mention of commendation for Lilith and the single poem “Canzone” at the International “Buonarroti” Awards – 4th Edition; in the next edition, on November 30, 2019, I received the Poetry Prize for kids for Carillon.

For Carillon, again, on November 24, 2019, I received the Premio Leandro Polverini 1st place in the dream poetry category with the following reasons:

the entire collection is traversed by a happy tension towards the good, terrestrially consisting in the friction exerted by the living descending towards that ineluctable and always imminent future, which obeys entropic law. In the texts, phonic influences run and intertwine, the beyond-sky and beyond-time that offer us much more than an extraordinary expressive ability of the Brescian author and his evident predisposition in capturing dreamlike, subtle, and mysterious sensations.

In 2014, I conceived and organized the first annual International Literary Contest POESIE NEL PAGO DELLA MITRIA as a perfect way to rediscover the beauty inherent in every human heart by visiting a sacred place.

Poetry represents one of the ways of going deep into the very essence of ourselves while dwelling on everyday experience, and thanks as well to receiving daily feedback from other people.
