The jam called either for directly synthesizing a classical/romantic piece or to write an original piece entirely in synthesizers.
Technically all of my output is always done -on- synthesizers with the FA-08 or with software synths in the laptop.
However I took pains in the submitted mp3 to mostly use synth tones.
In *MuseScore* however: if I used all different synth tones the player online in MuseScore's website would give an end product where things sounded very murky and bled-into-each-other. So there are some natural-sounding instrument tones albeit electronically produced, which are indicated in the score PDF as a result of that. And there are probably a small number of natural-instrument tones in the mp3 file which is the principal submission piece: however in that case it's like 90% electronic sequence tones.

The process was to listen to the Bela Bartók piece (4 Stücke Sz 22 BB 27 No.4 "Scherzo") on the mp3 player's earbuds while manually performing similarly "inspired" sections on the FA-08 and then to export that as a wav file. this wav file was then combined in MixCraft with the MIDI export also from the FA-08 and then the MIDI export used MixCraft's instruments in addition which takes us beyond the 16-track capacity of the FA-08 on its own. There are inter-cuts of brand new variations on the Whimsy series' leitmotifs, which cause this to be designated Whimsy Number 7.
