** This is a 25 minute arrangement of 12 recordings from the 19-concert realization of Jason Brogan's 'text pieces'. Contact me if you'd like to hear a 3-hour recording of this piece**

A series of 19 concerts in Oberlin, OH that took place roughly once a week between the first week of November 2011 and the last week of April 2012, with a hiatus between December 22nd and February 5th. Each concert was a realisation of one page from Jason Brogan's 21 page (2 pages went unrealised) score: text pieces (2009). Each piece was realised by a solo performer at a time and location of their own choosing.

Performers include: Jessie Downs, Douglas Farrand, Adam Parker, Peter Freeman, Tristan Gordon, Carrie Frey, Elizabeth Aubert, Eastman Presser, David Wasilko, Porter James, David Bird, and Alexander Heald.

Satoshi Sugiyama creates handmade books and music with his family in the small studio “Bonami” in Manazuru, Japan. He learned letterpress printing, hand-binding and playing the guitar on his own.
6 books and 3 music albums were released by Bonami so far.

I make experimental music through notated composition, performed song, and installation. Just intonation, information aesthetics, duration, cyclicality, and counterpoint are all things I often think about when making music.

I was born in 1993 and was raised in Columbus, Ohio. I stayed in my home state to receive a Bachelor of Music in composition from the Oberlin Conservatory of Music. I received an MFA at the California Institute of the Arts, studying under Michael Pisaro and Wolfgang von Schweinitz. My music has been released by Edition Wandelwesier and presented by HyperCube, Dog Star Orchestra, and the wulf. I live in Los Angeles.

When I write, I like to think about pluralism, class, and identity as it exists in all the unspoken ways it does among creative peoples. I also reflect often on how to live a meaningful life and how to love.

My works have been realized primarily across Europe and the United States. I hold a Bachelor’s degree in piano performance and composition from the Oberlin Conservatory of Music, and a Master’s degree in composition from the Royal Conservatoire of the Hague. I am currently residing in Los Angeles, California.
