
Greco-Romance. It’s often been said that the early underground parties thrown by the Greco-Roman artist collective, party and record label were romantic affairs. Maybe it was the punch, maybe it was the music, but love was certainly in the air.  And so the third solo EP from Hot Chip’s Joe Goddard picks up where last summer’s EP Taking Over’s love affair with club basements left off.
This new EP titled Endless Love spans five dancefloor inspired tracks of epic proportions, none more so than the 15 minute version of EP closer ‘Carried Away’. ‘Endless Love’ follows his tradition of collaborating with other musicians such as newcomer Valentina for 2011’s anthem ‘Gabriel’ or German house legend Boris Dlugosch for ‘Step Together’ by asking Betsy to provide the vocals for the title track and its sister ‘Make It Right’, the pair of songs lyrically entwined in a strange love ritual.

As Joe himself whimsically says: 

“This is another bunch of songs I have been making recently, surprisingly it consists mostly of House music! And a couple of other ones that aren't House - you can skip those”

However, maybe don’t do as the main man says. For once we give you permission to completely ignore Joe Goddard and do as you please: get loved up with ‘Endless Love’, due for release late July / early August 2014.

This melancholic synthpop ballad reflects on solitude, time, and the uncertainty of tomorrow. Set during a sunset at the beach, the narrator stands motionless beneath a beach umbrella, casting a long shadow on the sand. As the light fades, they watch hermit crabs slowly make their way toward the glowing water, symbolizing movement, instinct, and trust in the natural cycle. Meanwhile, the narrator remains still, lost in thought and doubt, questioning what the next day might bring and whether they too will find direction. The song explores the tension between inner hesitation and the world’s continuous motion, carried by atmospheric 80s-inspired analog textures and haunting melodies.

Downtown Party Network might once have been a short yet magical period of New York City nightlife. Today the name stands for music from another side of the world - Lithuania. An entity combined of experiences, influences, events, trips, and adventures in music that have come together during the last 20 years.

Downtown Party Network’s music has been signed by german Get Physical Music and Dirt Crew Recordings, british Futureboogie and Anjunadeep, belgian Eskimo Recordings and australian Future Classic to name a few. The releases have been favorited by DJ Harvey, Dixon, Laurent Garnier, Groove Armada, Tensnake, Ame, Jamie Jones, Sasha.

‘Days Like These’ by Downtown Party Network released on legendary Eskimo Recordings back in 2009 became a dancefloor destroyer, hitting record shops’ charts and being played by countless amount of djs all around the world.

‘Space Me Out’, released in October 2013 by Silence Music, became one of the most charted tracks on Resident Advisor in 2013. Mario Basanov, Hannes Fischer and Musk accompanied the original track with brilliant remixes. Each of them received a significant amount of attention, as well as a melodramatic music video that was filmed in spooky Lithuanian nature. A year later, a new version of ‘Space Me Out’ was revamped and presented exclusively on ‘Deep House Amsterdam’ just before Amsterdam Dance Event and a brand new remix of the worldwide hit, crafted by the legendary producer Ewan Pearson. 

In the last years DPN had his shows in New York, San Fransisco, Tokyo, Hong Kong, Sydney, Shanghai, Singapore, Dubai, Stockholm, Copenhagen, Helsinki, Bangkok, Seoul, Mexico City, Jakarta, London, Berlin, Bali,  Bucharest, Ho Chi Minh, etc.
