It is not often that electronic music artists venture into projects with other creators, but it is even less often to come across artists whose collaboration becomes a stable and lasting union, accounts for most of the work they do and goes far beyond a mere sporadic partnership. When such a project becomes consolidated and mature and shifts from deejaying to studio production, we can say we’re facing a pretty unique scenario, especially if the artists manage to keep up the rhythm, quality and increasing recognition for over a decade.

This is the case of Valentín Corujo + Héctor Sandoval = Exium. The success formula employed by this duo of deejays and producers from Asturias, Spain, that have yet to experience a setback in their career ever since in 1999 they decided to work together, is one of determined and solid effort.

Deepbass was introduced to the scene in 2009 his music is best described as deep, dark, atmospherical techno.  Born in Glasgow, he started producing music in 2008 and from there his sound evolved, always minimalistic, elements of ambient, hypnotic rhythms and deep rolling baseline’s. In 2010 he launched his label Informa Records as a platform to express himself and to explore further into his brand of deep techno. The label is going strong has now had to opportunity to work with artists such as Modern Heads, Cio D’Or, Mark Broom, Edit Select Echologist, Ness, Hironori Takahashi, nAX_Acid and many more high quality artists. Deepbass has had a string of releases on some great labels such as Dynamic Reflection, Aconito Records and Shapeless Records. Enjoy !

For that brief moment a silhouette appears, wet, worn down and at a glance standing still. The moment passes, the thunder brings back the wave of pitch black storm. Another flash. Another moment of silence. Although the silhouette looks different. The loop continuous again and again before the wild howl and realisation comes – unknown dancer meditates in the rhythm.

“In Greek mythology, Thanatos was the daemon personification of death.
In classical Freudian psychoanalytic theory, Thanatos represents the death drive (German: Todestrieb); the drive towards death, self-destruction and the return to the inorganic: “the hypothesis of a death instinct, the task of which is to lead organic life back into the inanimate state”. The death drive opposes Eros, the tendency toward survival, propagation, sex, and other creative, life-producing drives.”

THNTS is Berlin based artist. He is founder and resident at ESCH, and also resident at Elements (://aboutblank).
