After a successful summer of Church White releases gathering support from Session Victim, Move D, Galcher Lustwerk and a host of others, Church returns with it’s next offering from Peckham via Auckland brothers Chaos In The CBD.

Fresh off the back of the Juno number one seller EP 'Midnight In Peckham' on Rhythm Section, they delve into deeper territory with emotive title track ‘Constraints Of Time Travel’. The B-side is a more familiar affair with trademark swingy percussion and expert use of samples providing a deep warm house sound we’ve come to expect from the pair.

Constraints Of Time Travel is out on 13th of November on vinyl and on digital from November 27th.

The music of Genius of Time has always been defined by a certain elegance and grace. Finding new ways into and out of the labyrinth that some people call (deep) house, one the Swedish duo’s inner strength is the uncanny ability to create tension, sustaining and playing with it, before rewarding the listener (or dancer) with a fulminating mirror ball. Same goes for their treatment of percussive elements. 
„Peace Bird“, the opener of GOT’s EP of the same name, is a prime-example of that technique: a tight build-up and an intricate breakdown lead to heavily strings and foolproof floor finesse. Coming along with „Smiling Into Eternity“ that mellows you down easy as well as the club ready  „Rymd01“, the whole thing is a more than worthy successor to GOT’s first EP for Running Back almost five years ago. Niceness unlimited. Nerd facts: most of the elements of these three tracks here were recorded live and then mixed down on a reel to reel. No safety net, no double bottom!  Genius of time and genius of love.

Jazz-House phenom Tour Maubourg, makes his debut on emerging French house label 'Happiness Therapy' with a 5 track EP which includes 2 remixes by house music hero 'Art Of Tones'. Labeled as "most promising producer of the french house scene" by Trax Magazing, he has had sold out EPs on labels such as Pont Neuf, FHUO and FINA. 

Kicking the EP off is 'Allégresse' a hypnotic, head nodding, Jazz-House track with mesmerizing piano melodies, rhythmic percussions and  smooth walking basslines that create a sense of weightlessness. The perfect opening track for any occasion. 

Next on the EP is 'Stay' an upbeat percussion driven track with rounded out deep house basslines, raw crispy hi-hats patterns and retro melodics that complete this groovy house track.

The final track on the EP is 'Amicalement Vôtre' a laid back cerebral house track that tickles the brain with its soothing jazz trumpet melodies and trippy solo, brought together with calming piano loops. Salin Records welcome Tour-Maubourg to the label, a match they dreamed of since hearing his first EP on his home label “Pont Neuf” back in 2017.

Paris-based producer and DJ Tour-Maubourg is an outstanding talent in creating emotions. It is probably exactly that what makes him one of the most promising artists of the Parisian house scene according to Trax Magazine. Through the last year, he was very keen on building up a studio in Paris. His enthusiasm for studio gear leads to a new level of production skills. “Interlude” and “Duophonie (Jazz Mix)” are two perfect examples for the symbiosis of sampling, synthesis and sound design. These two tracks fascinated us with their richness of detail and liveliness, and so we decided to build a whole EP around these beautiful tracks. 

Christophe Salin makes his remix debut with his reinterpretation of “Interlude”. After the release of his “You Took My Love EP” in spring 2019 he took the time to rebuild his studio and work on new ways to create sounds and textures. Remixing for one of his most appreciated artists of the current house scene is, without a doubt, the perfect time to release the sound he was working on during the last months.

Daria Salin’s painting speaks louder than any word and reflects the structures and details of Tour-Maubourg’s music.

Back in March, German production duo Session Victim dropped their ‘Needledrop’ album via Night Time Stories, an irresistibly downtempo LP that wove together sounds of jazz, house, soul, funk, disco and more. Church Records regular Laurence Guy has now lent his talents to the album’s title cut, turning in something that’s as melodic as it is driving, complete with dusty drums and delicate guitars. It’s part of a remix pack that includes a juke rework from Jackmate, plus contributions from Patrice Scott and Dday One. “For the remix EP of our album ‘Needledrop’, we got 5 artists on board who play and work in quite different areas and genres but all have had a substantial impact on us, musically and/or personally over the years,” Session Victim say. One for the late summer nights we’re about to start enjoying, you can tune in below.
