When I first heard this piece by Hang Massive I instantly heard subtle trap grooves flowing in and around their beautiful Hand Pan melodies. This was mid-winter 2021 Melbourne lockdown. In my morning mycelium walks, the sun kisses my skin and blesses me with its warmth.

Music bloomed hope in me for the Sun's Rays to once again shine on humanity as it passed through its darkest passage of the pandemic. And so it seems fitting now as we move on beyond the most challenging parts of the pandemic, for this sunlight to shine for you with its release.

The latest edition of our free download series welcomes Hernan Cattaneo, Jamie Stevens and Anton Tumas for their first appearance. Needing little introduction and simply known as the maestro, Hernan Cattaneo is one of the world’s most beloved DJs and his Sudbeat Music imprint is widely regarded as one of the best in its field. With a career that spans over three decades, Hernan Cattaneo has recorded eleven albums, thirty singles and fifty remixes, all while touring the world delighting passionate music lovers with his impeccable taste and exquisite programming skills.

Meanwhile, Australian artist Jamie Stevens has achieved an amazing level of critical and commercial success over the course of his three-decade long career. As one of his country’s most talented and sought-after artists, Jamie has proven his skill in professional sound design, film scores and contemporary electronic music. Prolific and consistent in equal measure, Jamie has enjoyed a creative swell in recent years, landing releases via Lee Burridge’s All Day I Dream, John Digweed’s Bedrock Records and Guy J’s Lost & Found.

The third member of the trio is American artist, DJ and promoter Anton Tumas. With a career that spans well over a decade, the Los Angeles resident has left an inevitable mark on the underground scene through his Subtract On The Pier residency and burgeoning Subtract Music imprint.

Last year the trio combined their extensive forces and took to reworking Pink Floyd's ‘Breathe (In the Air)’. Released in 1973 as part of the band’s iconic ‘The Darkside of the Moon’ album, the much lauded song remains as one of the group’s most revered and recognized creations. After several live airings by Hernan Cattaneo, perhaps most notably at BNP Open Life, the trio’s take on the iconic song has been shrouded in mystery, with fans hypothesizing who reworked the track in such grand fashion. Now, fifty years to the day after the original release of the song, we are pleased to offer Hernan Cattaneo, Jamie Stevens and Anton Tumas’ rendition as an exclusive free download. Enjoy.

The 2nd annual Rainbows End Festival was such a blast.   I'm in love with this year's new addition of the chillout room for ambient downtempo and experimental music.  This one was really special.  Seated on the floor, lights down low, my sweetheart laid down with her head on my lap, while I DJ from a collection of my favorite emotive, vibey tracks for all my friends lounging on cozy couches, giant beanbags, and pillows at the end of a big night of dancing and partying.  Another late night sunrise session for the books!  Welcome to the sweet sounds of the Honey Lounge.
