Detroit based electro and techno artist Francois Dillinger (Natural Sciences, Blind Allies, Dionysian Mysteries) collaborates with LDI Records owner Lloyd Stellar for the imprint’s third vinyl release. Machine Men EP sees the pair working in a deep and contemplative sonic world, inspired by the potential future where the relationship between man and machine becomes blurred.

The story of this EP takes place on a future earth, at a time where technological performance enhancing implants push identities of human and machine into a gray area which is no longer binary. On this earth, conservative groups oppose this development, stuck in the idea that machines are subordinate to humans. The EP explores this oppression of different ideas around identity, finding parallels with the same discourse and challenges that today we see in modern society and the fight against conservative, populist right wing politics to create an accepting and equal world.

Specialising in moody, atmospheric electro, LDI Records (Lloyd’s Dark Imperium) are an essential label to watch. Distributed worldwide by Clone Distribution, while the Dutch label’s main focus is on vinyl releases, available in selected record shops across the globe, releases will also be available digitally.

Andy Toth casts a long shadow in the Detroit scene. From being co-founder of the Detroit Grand Pubahs to working as an engineer and mixer, he’s worked on so many records that you know but in his egoless way, didn’t know he was part of. Being the co-author of “Sandwiches” took him around the world, but more importantly it was the hold music for Mudgie’s, a legendary Detroit Deli run by another long standing denizen of the Detroit underground, Greg Mudge. Greg Mudge was a true pillar of our techno community in Detroit, from showing us the venue for the first leaky roof No Way Back, to throwing his own events and supporting great people. One of those people was Andy Toth, who he was constantly pressuring to release his music, and this became a major theme of Greg Mudge’s memorial.  When Greg suddenly passed last September, some friends came in to DJ his memorial like Derek Plaslaiko. When it was Andy Toth’s turn he played only his own productions and we were all just so blown away. Mudgie was always asking Andy “what’s up with those tracks?” And this record is the answer,  a testament to that thought, and to the deeply layered and detailed work of Andy Toth. Andy has created a uniquely dense Detroit Sci Fi trip through sound, with elements of acid, electro, techno that result in an advanced and mature adventure in sound, reflecting his roots in the Detroit scene, but pushing it into new hypnotic futures, to boldly go where no one has gone before.

Andy Toth - Subspace (Preview Clips) [IT 48]

Gladio Operations presents its sixth work, in which It returns to the format of various artists. In this third compilation tilted "The Analog Theory" we encounter various renowned producers from the electro scene in Europe.

This EP opens with the French producer Jauzas The Shining, with a fantastic track titled “Traveling Light” where we can hear his classic dark and hypnotic sound in all his productions.

Next up, we meet an old acquaintance of the label the Catalan producer Univac returns again showing off their forceful and aggressive rhythms, entering once again into more industrial territories.

Side B takes off with an exquisite cut by Lloyd Stellar tilted “Re-Entering Earth’s Atmosphere”. The Dutch artist who marks his debut in Gladio Operations, gifts us with an enveloping and very well molded track, with perfectly chosen melancholic harmonies.

German producer Martin Matiske who also debuts with Gladio Operations and has productions on prestigious labels such as Gigolo Records or Stilleben, is the chosen producer for the fourth track tilted “Telepathic Tuning”.

The EP closes with "Round Control" by the young and talented producer from Valencia, Uranio Empobrecido. This track is the most electronic on the EP and possesses the undeniable sound of Detroit, evident in each and every one of the sequences used.

LectrO cOd_E returns in full force with five staggering cuts sure to pulverize the boogie.  'Savidge Machine' rolls and bounces in that hyperactive manner we've come to expect from this prolific creator of no-nonsense electro.

The title cut hides a subliminal vocoder backdrop behind a chunky punch-up of thick breaks.  In direct continuation but slight contrast, 'Deep' takes over, lit up with neon bleep melodics and washes of metallic noise... a delicate weaving of synth lines rides this one out.

'Calkachu' brings an updated take on the signature manic LectrO cOd_E vibe, fusing a flurry of juicy synth hooks with some robotic posturing, filling the track's hefty mold of sub, breaks and popping percussion.

'LectrO Maniac' unwinds into strips of mechanical rhythm, shifting emphasis with each razor sharp transition. Spacious pockets in the beat show off a dirty pitched 808 bassline and leave space for an evolving mix.

'Modulated' tops the collection with a boombastic drum jam, strewn with pitchy nuances and stuttering effects breaks.  Woodwork alumni, Pablo Splice jumps on board with a remix of this one, adding a meandering bass hook to his revamped set of LectrO cOd_E beats. An extended tag rocks the floor with a barrage of abstract robot speak.

Kwasir is a new project run by the well know DJ Crisma, born in Trieste (Italy) in 1990.
