Kenny Glasgow is a North American electronic music pioneer, a role he’s held for over two decades. Though the Canadian star has spent the last 5 years as the half of the acclaimed duo Art Department, functioning as a musical engineer, composer of both music and lyrics, and vocalist, he is now returning to his solo roots. Before he started touring the world, releasing influential full lengths, headlining major festivals and gracing the cover of taste making magazines with Jonny White, Kenny Glasgow already had a cult and loyal following dating back to the early nineties!

The jewel in his solo crown to date is ‘A Taste of the Low Life’, a stunning debut solo LP that was a dark and gritty fusion of electronic styles on No.19 Music, and fans will be delighted to know a follow-up is the works on the same label. Aside from this standout highlight, he also released a number of perfectly formed EPs on labels like Jinx, Roger Sanchez’s Narcotic and Family Recordings and came correct as part of Method Men and Unabomber with musical partner Mario J, racking up remixes for the likes of Strictly Rhythm and Azuli. Now he is back focusing on his solo career again and has plenty lined up for 2015.

Glasgow first became immersed in the scene as a promoter, putting on illicit warehouse parties in his native Toronto before progressing to become resident at acid house mecca The Buzz and later the world famous Industry Nightclub. It was there that he picked up a sense of what worked dance floors, both in terms of DJing and production. Always putting these lessons to great use whether solo or with Art Department, his own emotive, tortured sounding and unique gravelly vocals have very much become his trademark.

￼As such his forthcoming LP and other musical projects will likely bare these hallmarks, as will the music he releases on the new label he is setting up with cohort Mr White, under the banner title of Social Experiment. It takes its name from the club nights and mix series No. 19 Music have overseen and will focus on only the most compelling club focused music. Like the entirety of Kenny Glasgow’s career, this next solo chapter is to take him to the finest clubs and festivals around the world armed with a knowing and considered bag of music that will be put together in the sort of compelling ways only an artist of his standing can.

In addition to touring as a solo artist, he has taken his branded label nights across the globe - from his Alphahouse showcases at BPM Festival to countless Little Helpers events throughout North America, Australia, and Europe - further cementing his reputation as both a curator and performer.  

Growing up in the midwestern United States, Butane was steeped in the classic underground house and techno sounds that originated in Chicago and Detroit. Further influences came from afar: New York house, West Coast house, UK tech house, Cologne techno, Berlin minimal. His formative years were spent on the dancefloors of legendary venues like Twilo and Vinyl in New York City, Space and Crobar during Miami’s Winter Music Conference, and Rednofive in Chicago.

An avid record collector and DJ since 2002, Andrew’s infamous monthly party in St. Louis established an underground scene in the city and became a must-stop for touring international artists. In 2004, he embarked on his own artistic journey in the studio, despite lacking any formal musical training (a classically trained pianist he was not). Proving to be a fast learner, his unique and eclectic sound began earning him worldwide acclaim on international record labels in a mere matter of months. The German press dubbed him a wunderkind. He moved to Berlin shortly after, residing in the city from 2006–2011.

Now a resident of San Francisco, Butane is renowned for a steadfast commitment to his craft, and stands as a pillar of artistic integrity and consistency in the rapidly changing realm of electronic dance music. He values studio work over social media, and boasts an impressive and sprawling discography released by some of the most respected imprints in the business. As the founder of three labels of his own - Alphahouse, Little Helpers, and Extrasketch - Butane's impact on the industry is both deep and enduring.

Infused with energy, finesse, and sophistication, his sets resonate deeply with in-the-know audiences.  Over the course of 8 eventful years since their genesis as the Droog collective, the Los Angeles-based trio – Andrei, Brett & Justin – have become true Renaissance men of underground dance music. Sprung from their DJ roots in late 90s/early ‘00s, Droog have taken on (nearly) all of the essential mantles: label heads – since 2009 their Culprit outfit has become a real force in the new “Deep” dance music movement; promoters of considerable experience and renown – their party series long a hometown institution, took on a global reach with events spanning Europe and the Americas; and producers – solo or with steady collaborator Inxec, they have infiltrated some of the top dance music labels like Crosstown Rebels, Get Physical, Supernature, Last Night on Earth, Noir and Akbal.  

Droog has now emerged as a touring DJ unit with a suitcase-full of highlights, from 4 appearances at the beloved Fabric in London, the twin Berlin clubbing institutions: Watergate and Renate, and Paris’ legendary Rex to memorable shows in Peru, Australia, Russia, Portugal, Ecuador and beyond.


Canadian Jonny White, acting Head of No.19 Music, is now the lone force behind the influential project that began as a collaborative effort with long-time friend Kenny Glasgow in 2009. The prolific producer’s original production style landed Art Department at the forefront of a major underground music movement, transcending genre barriers and forever altering the landscape of dance music. Their game-changing contribution to electronic music has been undeniable, garnering accolades such as #1 track of the year at the Beatport Awards in 2011 and iTunes #2 “Best Electronic Album” of 2011. Notable mention in wide-spread press, including The Guardian, Rolling Stone, Billboard, Vogue, I:D, Nylon and Vibe Magazine who ranked art department the #2 DJ/Producers in the world in 2013, second only to Daft Punk, firmly established Art Department as a rarity in the world of electronic music.

Depending on whom you ask, Matthew Dear is a DJ, a dance-music producer, an experimental pop artist, a bandleader. He was the founding artist on both Ghostly International and its dancefloor offshoot, Spectral Sound. He’s had remixes commissioned by The XX, Charlotte Gainsbourg, Spoon, Hot Chip, The Postal Service, and Chemical Brothers; he’s made mixes for the Fabric mix series and Get Physical’s Body Language. He maintains four aliases (Audion, False, Jabberjaw, and Matthew Dear), each with its own style and distinct visual identity. He straddles multiple musical worlds and belongs to none—and he’s just hitting his stride.
