Well, my good friend Paco dropped me a note to say he had a piece of music to which I might like to try and add something, were I so inclined.  Always a good day when that happens.

Now, I can't honestly recall the precise sequence in which the neurons fired inside my skull to yield the result we have here, but we are where we are as they say.

Don't go looking at me for rationale.

Thank you, Paco, as always my friend, for inviting me to come out to play, and for mastering the end result in the midst of untold techno-horror grief.  I hope your DAW world resolves itself very soon.

I lie bewildered, here, in my sphere of cubes,
On crushed silk cushions sprawled.
I sketch the cool Palladian dudes
In charcoal, on Aleutian walls.
They think I know what thoughts are theirs,
And beg to trade their graceless airs, 
But I left them there to climb their stairs
Ever downward through Athenian halls.

They say my knowledge is remiss,
The diabolical's back in town.
Seems ignorance is bliss
For this philosophical clown.
I'm seeking emptiness of mind,

My associate, Plato knows the game
Survives through pretty dialogue
He suffocates but bestows his shame
On city states whose statutes fog

Deep mental grasp of social structure

Happy Friday to all of you. I hope 2023 is treating you well so far. I’m doing my best to focus my free-range mind on creative endeavors; definitely the most positive use of my time. And to that end, I’m happy to admit I’m still keeping to my 2023 music goals (2 tracks a month). And the track I get to share with you today is particularly exciting.

It’s been a goal of mine for a few years now to try out one of Andre’s (noxpox: https://soundcloud.com/noxpox-page-12, https://noxpox.bandcamp.com/) open collabs. His most recent offering ‘kannmangebrauchen’ (https://soundcloud.com/noxpox-page11/noxpox-kannmangebrauchencan-be-used) was particularly enticing; and this resulting remix is an equally thrilling surprise for me. In fact, this might be the closest I’ve come to the 80s and 90s stylings of my favorite Industrial bands (Skinny Puppy, NiN, Ministry, Front 242, etc.). 

Of course, no GrevusAnjl remix would be complete without at least a little uplifting cuteness hidden in the folds (I tried to keep it dark and edgy. I really did. But the cuteness just seeps in). So if you’re in the market for adorable Industrial, I might have just what you need. I hope you enjoy my GrevusAnjl ‘Repurposed For Dance’ remix of a very cool noxpox original. :)

There was an old piano lurking at the side of stage so Dani wondered over and gave it a good bash mid set - i made some pretty average bass noises in the background : )  pardon the audio quality -  its a straight raw capture from my trusty zoom . sometimes I think we lose track of the treasures that are at our fingertips as we get wrapped up in some amorphous thought of the future. Put another way "stop and smell the roses"  it is what we do and experience along the way that actually makes up our life ..little things that in retrospect were big things..the things that actually matter when you look back    so try and make these things appreciated in real time and not some retrospective memory at the end of your life
