Dance Beyond: Part 1 Keena Maya

Ecstatic Dance DJ based in New York. 


The depths of Keena Maya's sound are incantations, drawing us down into our roots, grounding us into our bodies, and invoking the incandescent deity within us to rise. She is a sound artist, DJ, producer, and instrumentalist. Her global #BASSBLISS sets revel in the low-end, an organic electronic transmission for heart expansion via the dance floor.  
 
She is one-half of  @being-sound - with her partner @Joro-Boro. Together they perform live #RitualBass.  She is a member of @BAEsound , a feminine powered mindful music collective, a resident of @ecstaticdancenyc, and a contributor to the global Ecstatic Dance community.  

Keena Maya is from Brooklyn and now resides in Hudson, New York, She has performed at  venues like House of Yes,  Knockdown Center, The Sultan Room, The Good Room, Judson Memorial Church, Basilica, PS21, and festivals like Dance Beyond Campout, Dance Medicine Campout, and Impulse Festival.

Ecstatic Dance is a community gathering for people who want to express themselves freely, to connect, and to expand together through the inspiration of music & dance. 

Join us and experience a safe and inspiring space to dance without talking, drinking, and the nightclub vibe. This is about self-expression, freeing your mind and body, and connecting with yourself and those around you. No booze, no shoes and no chit-chat on the dance floor helps us keep it intentional. Amazing music helps us keep it all about dance!

We connect and share the DJ sets from live Ecstatic Dance journeys around the world!

All the sets here have been created/recorded at an Ecstatic Dance production with live dancers. Our productions are intentional gatherings, follow an energetic journey-arch, have a minimum time-length or one hour and incorporate professionally curated and mixed global electronic sounds and tracks to uplift the spirit and inspire free-form dancing.
