EDMID Summer Sessions 2021

Over the past two decades, few artists have consistently delivered releases and performances quite like Bryan Jones. This Detroit-based DJ and producer has brought forth countless tunes and memorable nights while becoming a staple in the scene as one-half of Golf Clap. Last year, he departed that project and looked to start something new to continue his journey in the house music realm with his solo project, Wave Point, surfacing soon after. 

Since his debut as Wave Point in 2021, Jones has gone on to drop a number of heaters for fans to feast their ears on including the likes of "Words," "Shadows," and "Different Sounds," singles that all are building to his debut album Higher Dimension. If the sounds that have arrived so far are any indication of the remaining tracks then expect Wave Point to induce a dose of nostalgia as the sounds of disco and classic house permeate your speakers later this summer.
More recently he released a serious jam called "In The Moment" to help get everyone back to dancing ahead of the summer season. Featuring a groovy beat, strings, brass, and perfectly placed vocals, it's a throwback tune with a modern twist you should put on if you're looking to set a proper vibe when hanging out with friends during any pool party or BBQ. And to celebrate the release of his latest single he swung by to spin up a mix to further showcase his mood-setting abilities.

Speaking about the creation of his latest mix, Wave Point said "This mix showcases a few songs from my upcoming album "Higher Dimension" along with some of my favorite funky tracks I've been listening to at home and playing at the club now that things are starting to open back up." Those funky tracks include everyone from Simon Doty and Soul Clap to J. Worra and Castelle, so get ready to groove to the beat and press that play button.

While the house music scene continues to thrive in places like Chicago, New York, Los Angeles, San Diego, and Miami, there's something to be said about the sounds that are coming out of the scene in Arizona as well. As the sound of the underground continues to take hold of their sun-baked landscape, aside from the AC one of the few things keeping everyone cool is the beats coming from their homegrown talent - and PR!CE is helping lead that charge.

Based out of Phoenix, PR!CE has carved out his own space in the scene since first emerging back in 2017. Dropping absolute heaters that include "High," "No Matta," and the Trappin EP to name a few, it's clear that he's an artist to keep your eyes on in the coming years. In 2021 he's continued to show signs of greatness by landing "Shot" on House Of Hustle's Miami Hustle 2021 compilation while also teaming up with Fox'd and Avenue to create some tunes on The Bromuda Triangle EP that was released on 40oz Cult. 

More recently, he looked to inspiration from bots and randoms on Instagram for his latest tune, the self-released "DMs," that brings a booming bassline, perfectly placed vocals, and infectious groove along with it. To celebrate the release of this tune and the onset of the summer season, he swung by to spin up a mix to showcase both his tastemaking abilities and skills behind the decks. It's jam-packed with his own IDs and originals, but there are plenty of tasty tunes from the likes of Malaa, KDYN, Biscits, and Uknew as well.

Multi-talented artist CHANEY has been destined for a career in music ever since his earliest days while growing up in Swindon, UK. First joining his brother's band and touring pubs, he inevitably pursued his passions as a solo artist and signed a publishing deal before he was even 18. During this time he honed his skills as a singer/songwriter, but dance music beckoned CHANEY to explore the genre as he began to play around with different beats while finding a passion for raving as well.

The result of this adventure into the electronic realm culminated in the style that CHANEY has become known for today: house music that is perfect for nights out on the town and especially club play. A frequent face on famed imprint Skint Records over the years, he's also graced the likes of Toolroom with the sensational tune "Good For Me" along with Stress Records during his run so far.

More recently, CHANEY caught the ear of Kideko and his imprint Make 'Em Move, which led to the release of his latest tune "Always Come Back." Driven by its piano notes, this track is one that will immediately place you in the center of a packed club at peak time with a disco ball rotating above your head as the hypnotic beat and perfectly placed vocal runs through your mind.

While this release has helped further proven his prowess as a producer, CHANEY is now celebrating the track and the return to dancing after a year of dashed plans with an hour-long mix. Filled to the brim with some stunning sounds that will ignite a fire in your shoes and get you moving, play this one ahead of a night out or when you're just hanging out by the pool and trying to keep cool this summer - you won't regret it!

SVNF8 might be one of the freshest faces in the scene but is already catching the ear of fans and tastemakers alike with their insane techno soundscapes. Defined by the mission to "change the way people perceive electronic music" this masked artist has begun to accomplish that goal with each passing release that has landed on labels like mau5trap, Jaw Dropping Records, and Jannowitz Records.

Now, this mysterious techno producer is riding a wave of successful releases such as "Occult" and the Fall Free EP to even greater heights this summer while also working to bring Abyss Constellations to live with Mac & Gizmo. Between the onslaught of insane underground grooves, livestream appearances on Insomniac TV, and stunning performances in the face of the pandemic that included a magical set inside the Neon Museum in Las Vegas - it seems as if nothing is stopping SVNF8 on their rise to greatness.

To help further prove that point, SVNF8 swung by to celebrate the summer in their own unique way with a mix that is overflowing with sensational soundscapes to explore. Speaking about the mix itself, they said "being it's the first summer following 2020; there is still so much beauty among the darkness," and after embarking on the 30-minute journey ourselves... we couldn't agree more. Listen closely for some unreleased IDs as well as tracks like "Say Nothing" and a remix of Kaskade and deadmau5's "I Remember" that will simply take your breath away.

My third entry, this time with a very different vibe than usual.
Played the chords from the MIDI through a Scarbee MK1, layerd it with guitar and put drums on it. (The shaker is from BeHoward13)
Unfortunately i couldn't find anyone to sing on this which would have filled the space in the track quite nicely i think. Still had a lot of fun doing this and spent some hours soloing over it after it was done.
