This is an original New Super Mario Bros. DS-inspired overworld theme for the forest levels in that game. 

Half the worlds in New Super Mario Bros. DS happen to have unique overworld themes, so I figured it'd be neat to explore the concept of creating unique overworld themes for the remaining worlds that lacked them. These themes typically take some vague amount of inspiration from similar themes that may exist in other games, mainly focusing on the New Super Mario Bros. series.

Some noteworthy inspirations, particularly in terms of the melodies:
- The marimba/xylophone part was loosely based on World 4's world map theme, although not directly used as a leitmotif.
- The main melody is inspired by (and is meant to serve as a predecessor to) New Super Mario Bros. Wii's forest overworld theme.
