Charles Aznavour sinh năm 1924 tại Paris, gốc người Arménie. Tại Sài Gòn, thời kỳ nhạc yé-yé những năm 60, người ta biết đến Aznavour qua bài « Et Pourtant » năm 1963, sau khi đã biết Aznavour tài tử xi-nê qua phim « Un taxi pour Tobrouk ». 
Bài « La Bohème » sáng tác năm 1965, nói lên nếp sống lãng tử của giới nghệ sĩ trên đồi Montmartre của nửa đầu thế kỷ 20.

Recorded in 2000 in the trailer recording studio of Nashville artist Dobie Toms in the Appalachian Mountains. He usually recorded Country music so there was no piano on site. The only one we could find was this awful tinny sounding synthesizer and my accompanist Peggy Hooper made it sound better than it was. They were just sung straight through and recorded as is. I remember it costs me $500 to record 12 songs. This was a fortune for me at this time but I'm so glad I have this record of my developing voice during this period. I was 26 and 2 years later I moved to Vienna, Austria.
