Our mates from Snippets Music our back with the fourth various artist compilation of their 'Reflection Lines' series. Yet again, the St. Petersburg-based crew serve up a great collection of tracks. This time around Snippets invited Ksky, Komartsov and Ellipse, who are already known for the label listeners. New friends from Belgrade - Cosmic G and Laars with a collaboration novella 'Trancia', Maksim Polivanov from Motorama under the moniker Neporyadok and his 'Jewel Box' and one of the most productive musicians in St. Petersburg — Rambal Cochet, also known as Volta Cab. FINA Records co-owner — Corbi, interesting duo who released their first vinyl on Gated Recordings this year — not even noticed, and the last but not the least is superb selector from Kazan, Tatarstan — Enfant.

The flickering of static was all that was left behind as he scrolled and jumped between the channels to see if there had been some great and reckless mistake. How could it have just vanished like this? How could an entire network disappear? Where was the precedent for such chaos?

Nobody had ever heard of a missing channel before – they were programmed to remain eternal and to guide viewers through the night. One by one they tuned in to make sure that they were kept safe from the powers above – watching, listening and receiving the stream. Now it was gone, they didn’t know what might follow next…

London based brothers Two Cold are set to release an anticipated new EP on Make A Dance Records. It’s an EP with punchy Electro roots and Rave influences which will definitely do the trick on the dancefloor with clever cuts and chops dotted throughout.

"Neulust," the latest EP from Neuzeitliche Bodenbeläge, introduces listeners to the talents of Joshua Gottmanns and Niklas Wandt. Wandt's captivating voice invokes a sense of nostalgia, reminiscent of the era when Thorsten Fenslau was active, infusing tracks with poetic recitations. Wandt's drumming harmonizes perfectly with Gottmanns' warm chords and captivating melodies. Together, they debuted on Zurich's Lustpoderosa label with "Neulust," aiming to redefine their musical connection. Their presence in the central European underground scene has been marked by releases on Themes for Great Cities or Bureau B, accompanied by their vintage German Wave sound and lively performances. Regular touring has been part of their journey. "Neulust," recorded with minimal intervention, delves into themes of love, estrangement, and consumerism, blending haunting electro, deep house, NDW, and Euro Dance Elements. The EP signifies a significant stylistic shift and stands as the band's most compelling offering yet in their ongoing musical evolution.

Two Italians step into the Bordello. Both are armed. Their weapons of choice? The synthesizer sounds of italo, new beat and wave. LVCA and Otis have been raised on the sounds of their homeland, adopting its analogue sound while adapting it to their own style. The result is a brooding mix of addictive lines and vocoder fire. “Ritmo Electronico” opens with a steel-edged snare driving smeared synths through the city dusk, robotic lyrics menace this sleazy neon-stained scene of cracked mirrorballs and flaring machines. Listeners are pulled into the underbelly of A Promise In The Cold Night with the murky “Tanzen”. Alex Vincent’s words are shrouded in glitch, bright burbling bars and a clean clap offering a path of light to help the listener navigate their way. The true coldness of the night arrives with the stabbing keys of “Synthesised Emotion”. Through a haze of hi-hats, an electrical smoke of blacks and greys fizz with juddering volts as passions pour through cable and wire. That haze grows thick in the close. Through a mist of distortion, a “Sphere Of Light” penetrates. Pin-pricks of percussion are dowsed in aquatic tones before a syrup of static is poured across proceedings, lost vocals ghost in this fog of bending bodies and forms.

After an amazing response to an open call for demos last year, Sounds of Lava Lava is proud to present the first edition of its various artists compilation; WAVES.  All five tracks span the vast Electronic genre, from deep and mesmerising grooves to rough and raw dance floor weapons.

Mirko Hecktor kicks off the compilation with Aquaborn; a slow burner laid out over almost 7 minutes where delicate arpeggiated synths bounce alongside soft drums, warm bass lines, wandering keys and chopped vocal samples to create a hypnotising and almost meditative track. Following up is a debut from Scottish producer Lobos.  Hailing from Fife and now a part of Glasgow's thriving music scene, his track 5am Sunrise has an energy and excitement which is reminiscent of early 90’s UK dance records.  Looped synth lines and melodies playfully develop and distort throughout while driving kicks and clean percussion lead through moments of euphoria.

Chris & Reece keep it low and slow with Red Right Hand.  Squelching acid-tinged bass lines weave between thumping drum patterns and gritty piano stabs while Reece’s echoing vocals create an almost tangible atmosphere.

Making a return to Sounds of Lava Lava is Glaswegian duo Pentland Park.  With Never Go Back they take the energy up a level with punchy drums and chest-shaking sub bass tones.  Delicate vocal samples contrast with the sharp percussion, adding a layer of beauty to this raw groove.  Finally Max Raskin closes out the compilation with California Honey.  A true hardware enthusiast, Max combines crunching synth lines, shuffling drum patterns, spiralling keys and reverberating vocal hooks to make a true dance floor heater.

Timothy Clerkin returns to Insult To Injury after over a year away with explosive new Acid-Techno single Sigma. An overt analogue assault on the senses the track was performed live in Clerkin's vintage synthesiser recording facility. The result is a face melting melange of retro sounds & futurism underpinned by the nihilistic vocal sample that belies his Punk musical history. Hold onto your hats, this one packs a punch!
