Appendix.files introduces Lint. with the release of their debut single No Time for Distance, a lush and disorienting collage of decaying textures and rhythmic detritus.

Born from a live improvisation session at kwia, berlin and restructured in the studio, the track employs a technique the artists refer to as “smudging”—an infinite delay-tail sampling process that pushes recorded fragments into abstraction.

The original mix captures the sensation of memory dissolving in real time. Over five and a half minutes, No Time for Distance (Origin Mix) unfolds as a drifting, hypnotic composition shaped by ephemeral melodies, decayed loops, and warped rhythmic pulses.

The release extends into six radical reimaginings by a diverse group of artists: Genus Aix, DJ Strawberry, Another You, E.M.Butler & unown B.O.S., and Anixe M. Each remix further distorts the original sound source—drawing it through different filters of genre and emotion, from dub-drenched haze to rhythmically fragmented club mutations. The digital edition closes with the Valley Mix, a contemplative alternate version that fades the project into the ether.

Running just over 30 minutes, No Time for Distance is both a standalone piece and the opening gesture in Lint.’s evolving language of live-sampled decay and collaborative transformation. A full-length album is currently in the works for 2026.

There is an old primal feeling which seems to emanate from Aleksandr L. As a youngster he used to love sharing tapes amongst his friends and family: sharing is caring… Maybe music served as some form of escapism to the cold and grey Lithuanian weather?

His next step and natural evolution from analog to digital gave place to a podcast series: Electric Shapes. Another remedy in the form of music which eventually turned into the label of the same name, thanks to his partner in crime Jokios Kulturos’s prolific contributions. The sound of Electric Shapes is clearly aimed at an open minded dancefloor bridging the long gone days of alternative raves with the clubs of today. Amongst a continuous (broken) beat the catalogue is also peppered with some more downtempo and relaxed tunes which are a perfect partner to the end of the night or the start of a new day. The main purpose being to spread the love and bring peace through sound: Music is the cure.
