We are proud to present the nineteenth instalment of our Disco Suicide mix series by UK-based Stevie R (@stevie-r) & Parisinos (@Parisinos)!

Stavros Potamitis (aka Stevie R) conjures emotion and weaves sonic tales by combining the rebetiko folk music of his Greek homeland with analogue electronics. Working with a range of collaborators he offers forward thinking, avant-garde music and daring, theatrical live performances that freely blend and cross over between musical styles. As well as being a musician, producer and performer, Stevie is a lecturer at Point Blank Music College in London, runs his own record label Inside Out Records and is A & R of Chapter 24 Records. Always looking to push musical and sonic boundaries, he is just as relentlessly focused on moving things forward in his own work as he is committed to supporting the next generations to break through.

Born and raised in Nicosia, Cyprus, Constantinos Parisinos moved to the UK in early 00’s to study medicine. Electronic music quickly formed a gateway of expression. An obsessive collector of obscure melodic gems with an inherent attraction for repetitive sequences and slower, hypnotic rhythms; an enthusiast for the unconventional and the diverse underground music culture. 

Apart from his solo endeavours, Parisinos has formed a formidable sonic partnership with Stavros Potamitis (Stevie R). With a focus on blending Greek folk music (Rembetiko), mesmerising vocals and middle eastern scales with slower rhythms, acid lines and powerful percussion, their distinct sound captivates and hypnotises dancefloors. Together, they also release more experimental music under their more enigmatic alias After Altamont. Stavros Potamitis and Constantinos Parisinos are also harnessing their vision of electronic music through their label Inside Out Records. Aims for next year include a new live act and album.

Parisinos has worked with leading underground artists including Lena Platonos, Tolouse low Trax, MR TC, Anatolian Weapons, Zombies in Miami, A Strange Wedding and many more...

WhyPeopleWar: Balam - El Grito Primal

This mix comes on the back of a conflict which although relatively recent and ongoing has displaced an estimated 2.3 million people. That figure is rising by the hour. 

As such all the tracks from this mix come from the WhyPeopleWar compilation in conjunction with WhyPeopleDance and Ledotmat. 

So far the collection has raised 4,500 Euros which has been donated to the Ukrainian Red Cross. Artists, musicians, mastering engineers, And all the other behind the scenes folk have all got together to put their heart and soul into this project. Over a hundred artists and tracks have been put together in order to raise as much money as possible for the fastest growing humanitarian crisis in recent memory.

"Following on from his “Georgia Keep Me Vital” track which featured on our
Bonnie Tropical 6 compilation in February, we welcome Ravelston back into our wee party palace for a full EP release.

Ravelston recently relocated to Edinburgh after twelve years on the Bristol scene. He hosts Dot Joining and Freaks & Beats on Edinburgh’s EHFM and Bristol’s 1020 Radio respectively. He also co-runs Moving Heads Festival and The Washing Machine Soundsystem.

As a DJ and producer he digs from broadly eclectic tastes with a deep fondness for leftfield, cosmic, and psychedelic sounds. He's often found idling in the lower tempos, but with a keen determination to start a dance. A heady blend of chuggers and freaky bits - plus house music.

For this EP he's provided us with four low tempo cosmic bangers and two spooky interludes. These instrumental electronic tracks capture various vibes, vices and pastimes that Ravelston enjoyed whilst living down south. Ravelston’s Bristol Pleasures EP was produced between his former home of Bristol and his new one in Edinburgh and we very much hope you enjoy it as much as we do.

Saturn is a music project by DJ/Producer Andra G. Yoseph, which over the years had worked alongside music collectives and labels. Joining Akamady Records in 2019, he also has done several rework and remixes on other labels, one of his notable remix was released under MMDiscos Berlin. Its vibe sits in the middle spectrum between organic wave and 70’s psychedelia, equipped with subtle krautrock feel.
Karavan Haze EP marks Saturn's second original mix series release on Akamady Records. The EP starts with Moonstone Dub, a mix between dub-disco house and percussive soundscapes, evoking a trip through a nocturnal tunnel. Then comes Karavan Haze, an atmospheric electronica track that provides mind and body elevating trip. The EP closes with Santi Kush, which combines distinct aspects of world music and traditional percussion with mind-altering subliminal groove.

The label's second release is a mini-album by a talented musician and DJ from Odesa (Ukraine) – Itwo5. The album consists of 3 original tracks, and in addition to them 4 rather contrasting remixes from our great and very famous friends: Frolov (Ukraine), Colossio (Mexico), ID_UA (Ukraine) and Leonor (Mexico).

Wilds EP is a story about exploring new places and getting new experiences. About how difficult it may seem to become a part of another world that suddenly opens up for you and is ready to share the most intimate. This is my rhythm, this is how I got into slow music. This is a jungle with its own rules and "tribes" that do not like strangers. As a result, this place and people share all their knowledge with you, show their different sides and invite you to become a part of it.


In the Wilds track (thickets, wild places) - we get acquainted with the area, with the evening flora and fauna, we have the feeling that we are being watched. Halt, through a dream, somewhere in the distance, strange songs are heard that pull deep into these places to see what is happening there. Morning comes, and all the way to these sounds seemed to be a dream. In the morning, without leaving the thought that the dream was too obvious, we set off along a clearly trodden road, even the tracks are similar.

The further the road goes inland, the more clearly voices and instruments, laughter and loud conversations become audible - on this day there were big celebrations on the occasion of the summer - Solstice.
We are noticed, and without further ado with smiles are invited to the epicenter of events. The celebrations are bright, some people are in the river running nearby, there is a lot of fire, eccentric masks, rituals and worship of the Sun, which is about to go beyond the horizon.

With the sound of the first horn, attention shifts to the moon - Lunar, a big fire lights up, the dances become more intense, sometimes even creepy. Everything, like one big gear, circles around the fire, there are fewer songs, all this continues until late at night. In the morning we wake up from the noise of children, the fire is still smoldering in the center. The realization comes that you are not a stranger here, and you have always been a part of this.
