"This mix contains several of my current favorite minimal and techno records and also several classic gems of the genre.

For personal reasons, it was recorded at night, with the volume low on the speakers, which complicated the process a bit. It's not my most technically perfect session, but, on the other hand, the situation forced me to make a kind of blend and speech without stridency and this has built a very interesting sleepy atmosphere.

It's the music I could play nowadays at an after hour club and the way I would play it."

We were happy to cross paths at Mostra last year where she played an incredible live drone set, and even happier to showcase her talents through this mix series. Much like her productions, the mix encompasses all the nuance, and emotional depth that we love in Ambient music. Hitting those poignant moments and providing space for introspection. Davide Perrone (@pianetisintetici) and Gabriele Giuggioli jumped straight into the deep techno scene with their appearance on @hypnus Record. Since then, they've rapidly established themselves through a series of sold-out records on labels such as @kalaharioystercult, @thegodsplanet, and @konstrukt-5. By lacing their unique fusion of modern electronic music with field recordings from their travels, dreams of ancient mysteries start to vibrate in the air. To them, music is the primordial code that unlocks the doors inside of us, which leading into the realms of our imagination.

For the next edition of Monument Waves, we are honored to welcome ASIP, which is the DJ name of Ryan Griffin, founder of the legendary A Strangely Isolated Place label and the 9128.live radio station. 

Here ASIP presents a stunning mix featuring ambient, electronica, IDM, dub techno and more, where almost every track has been turned into a loop to bring to life the idea of "waves" as loops - continuous unfolding of repetitive patterns.

“Taking inspiration from the podcast series’ title, I aimed to create a mix that focused on
repetition and layers, as if staring out to sea watching blankets of waves roll in from
miles out; changing in intensity, but forever calming in their unbound repetition.”

EMC stands for Electronic Music Culture. The project was born in 2015 as a web radio and developed into a podcast series, music network, and collective of DJs.

We explore underground electronic music in all its complexity, and our playlists collected more than 100 mixes over the years and is now divided into two main folders: Shapes and Atmospheres.
