My Ecstatic Dance inspired set played at the Sunset Lounge on Easter Sunday 5-7pm. Starting with gentle tribal rhythms - as the sun went down the energy built up to an ecstatic peak over the two hour journey. Recorded live - it has a couple of imperfect moments but overall such a fun set that came together on-the-fly with loads of wonderful feedback - thank you for listening :)

I was honoured to host my first Dance Wave event in my hometown of Melbourne, Australia for the Winter Solstice, and guide participants through a Solstice ceremony with intention-setting, a dance journey to bring light to the darker parts of ourselves, into a sound bath to integrate before the closing circle. This is the live recording of the dance journey, complete with live-looping of yidaki/didjeridoo, vocals, and percussion.

This experience was truly humbling – the response and feedback incredible and a potent co-creation in aligning with the cycles of our world to release, heal and express authentically. I am filled with purpose and meaning and feel inspired to continue to evolve these offerings for community connection and celebration. I’m excited to share the live recorded set from Odyssey – a world fusion gathering I co-hosted as an intimate and social evening of world fusion artistry, music, performance, high-vibe nourishment, and community connection. Odyssey was an invitation into a rich tapestry of cultural beauty that honoured the ancient arts into modern realms, celebrating sacred global and tribal sounds with expansive expression.

My 90 minute multi-genre journey of tribal sounds and ethnic rhythms includes my signature looping of live instrumentation and vocals seamlessly entwined into a voyage of sonic alchemy, taking dancers on a journey across the world of sound from indigenous and modern cultures with an electronic foundation. Much love to all who helped us sell out the original space, upgrade to a larger room and then sell that out as well. Vibes were potently high and I’m so grateful to have co-created this experience for you all.

Odyssey – world fusion journey 23.08.25

TRIBAL BASS / RISING PSYCHEDELIC ENERGY / ECSTATIC DANCE / CEREMONIAL GATHERINGS

Elkemist is a versatile multi-instrumentalist, hybrid live DJ, facilitator and ceremonialist who plays multi-genre sets rooted in mystical sounds and ethnic flavours. With a deep love of tribal bass blended with rising psychedelic energy, his sets are curated to take audiences on a sacred journey of sonic alchemy, supported by live looping with yidaki/didjeridoo, vocals, flute and percussion. Having played at festivals around Canada and Australia including Shambhala (CAN), Wicked Woods (CAN) and Dragon Dreaming (AUS), he was also booked to close the Chill Island stage at this year’s canceled Esoteric Festival. While living in Canada, he co-founded a weekly ecstatic dance called Dance Wave, and he recently launched this offering in Australia to host intentional dance journeys and ceremonial gatherings for his hometown community.

Whether it’s a rising tribal bass journey, sacred gathering, ecstatic dance or sunrise festival set, expect a voyage across space and time, inspired by sounds from around the world to encourage the audience to move beyond the perceived limits of their bodies and minds.
