Jeroen van der Want also known as RON L, is a Dutch DJ based in Gouda, The Netherlands and a resident of the Rotterdam-based organization Embodiment. 

After years of actively experiencing the Dutch techno scene, Jeroen was becoming more and more drawn to that world by the long-lasting feelings of fulfilment and belonging that he experienced after every event. His love and passion for the music made him take the next steps into starting his journey as a DJ.

Inspired by artists like Speedy J, Luke Slater, Function, and labels like Dynamic Reflection, Pole Group and Illegal Alien Records, RON L has crafted a powerful blend of driving, loopy and hypnotic sounds, which is often best experienced during the peak time of the night. Nowadays, Jeroen is using the Pioneer DDJ-1000 controller, where he has the chance to work with 3 or 4 decks and express himself even better through complex intense atmospheres.
So far Jeroen had the chance to play for the Amsterdam-based Orphic crew, Frameworks in his hometown Gouda and Embodiment in Rotterdam alongside Rene Wise and Somewhen. 

To Jeroen being a resident of Embodiment means that he is in a trust-worthy environment, where mutual respect is a ground rule, and he feels supported to grow musically and push his limits, which in turn will allow him to give back to the community by sharing his knowledge. In the future, he hopes to get the chance to perform more all around the Netherlands, but also internationally.

In our 10th Weltraum podcast, we welcome you to get immersed with @prayformadeleine as she takes you on a 60 minute journey of sensual, hypnotic techno full of organic sounds, intoxicating pulsations and magical twists and turns.

Born and raised in the foothills of the Tatra Mountains of Slovakia, @prayformadeleine brings a fresh breeze to the Czechoslovak techno scene. Always on the move between Prague, Bratislava, and Brno, she hits it hard from all angles, as a dj, event organiser, and aspiring techno producer.
Her deep, immersive techno sets are crafted with the music production skills from studying sound-design in the university in Brno and also from her event production involvement with @spektrumkolektiv. They kicked the series off in May this year with the Japanese legend, @wolstakaakiitoh, at the dj booth and they continue to keep standards high as Madeleine’s determined to inspire local party-goers with events that elevate raves to next level hypnotising journeys.
We can’t wait to share the stage with Madeleine on July 28th after Acid Arab at @crossclubofficial!

A Sunday afternoon delight from two of techno's most beloved heavy-hitters arrives exclusively on our Soundcloud.

Berlin techno viking and founder of Dystopian Records Rødhåd and the young, accomplished and Mote-Evolver regular Rene Wise have released their 4 hour set recording from March 2023, a huge B2B session that saw the pair delve in and out of eachother’s company for our last Continuum party. They played an extended set during the final Continuum 24+hour party of the season this Spring. 

The session, which started at 4pm as the tail end of the afternoon drew in and went on til 8pm ahead of a closing set from Ben Klock and Marcel Dettmann, proved to be one of our highlights from the event. It's a real treat to be able to share the full recording; smashers from the get-go that takes us through the hard and heavy, to the atmospheric and energetic.

Lock in below and transport to the incomparable energy of Room 1 on a Sunday afternoon. Sometimes, we reckon, there's no place like it.

Number 54 for the series is brought to you by home-grown talent Xander also known as XÂRTE.

Back in the end of 2020 the journey for Xander started when he discovered his undeniable love for electronic music. As time passed by, he found himself spending a lot of time digging deeper into the techno realm. He started practising and experimenting with mixing and after some time Xander started posting his first sets online. He didn’t go unnoticed, and he has played at quite some venues already. Known for his style that blends hypnotic soundscapes with deep patterns, Xander tends to take the listeners on a spiritual experience. 

With this particular set, Xander intended to translate the set into a whole club night. He starts off with minimal deep techno and begins building up some tension while grabbing the listener's attention. As the tempo is building up throughout the set, the tone changes from minimal deep techno to hypnotic, where more driving textures can be heard. The skills that Xander has developed since he began DJ'ing are clearly audible. This young, talented DJ is surely someone to keep an eye on, and especially if you are interested in hypnotic techno. For now, let yourself be surprised by XÂRTE!

TROMP ▪ 909 FESTIVAL WEEKEND 2023

It still surprises me how far my music has spread. The stories I get to hear about what the music I make means to people still feel so surreal to me. I do feel o so incredibly special to be able to do what I do. A few weeks ago we had our second Distant Beach event, which was another great succes, I got to travel all over the world and next week I will do my first 10h set in Amsterdam which is also selling like crazy. And in between I have been making a lot of new music that is finally finding its way onto the shelves and into your ears. All coming very soon. Can't wait! Madeleine's love for music is unmeasurable. She has always been surrounded by it as she was influenced by classical music at a young age. Eventually, she discovered electronic music for the first time when she was visiting Slovakia's most open-minded festival at the age of 11 years old.

Her path to becoming an artist already started very early, but it really took shape when she came into contact with former club Herna and the local underground scene in Brno, Czech Republic, which persuaded her to start DJ'ing. Besides DJ'ing Madeleine also caught an interest in producing, so she started her master's of sound design in Brno.

Over time, she became most intrigued by the mind-bending, repetitive sounds of techno. That's why Madeleine likes to give tracks the space they need to evolve and create a hypnotic and symbiotic sphere on the dance floor.

Second Tbilisi-based resident to grace our special Bassiani x RYC summer collab, Nebbieri steps in with two hours of straight mind-altering material for the buffs. A deluge of uptempo alien wares and left-of-centre breaksy manoeuvres blended with homing hi-tech warheads, Nebbieri’s delivery takes no byway to get its message across. As with all Bassiani in-house jockeys, she undoubtedly masters the art of transition and radical tempo switches to perfection, and the ruthlessly addictive buildups she unreels here attests to her magnificent mixing skills and unfaltering resolution in wreaking absolute havoc wherever she gets to play at. Beware an atomic summer with Oppenheimer coming to theaters mid-July. Meanwhile here’s Nebbieri nuking out the competition, clean and tidy.

From Slovakia, we welcome Madeleine. 

The artit's boundless passion for music has been a lifelong companion, shaped by early exposure to classical melodies. Her journey as an artist began at a tender age, but it truly flourished when she immersed herself in the vibrant culture of Brno's underground scene, inspired by former club Herna. This experience ignited her enthusiasm for DJ'ing and sound production, leading her to pursue a master's degree in sound design in Brno.

As time moves on, she grew deeply fascinated by repetitive rhythms of hypnotic music driving Madeleine to provide tracks to transform and craft an immersive and mutually enhancing ambiance on the dance floor.

Recorded live at AMBNTL, the ambient night by Liminoid Collective at OOST in Groningen, this mix creates a space to drift, reflect, and immerse in sound.

The sound needs to have all the layers and depth, then it acts like glue. People need to be present so that whenever you lock eyes with someone, you feel grounded. The bodies have got to be responding to music in a way natural for them, and then the bodily fluids start seeping into the air. But all of this can only happen when the music is delivered honestly. With love, intention, opinion opinion, and with a real dedication to sharing and connecting. I felt that when Madeleine and Daniel were playing on Ankali’s 8th Anniversary. The room smelled like the perfect set – and with that, you can’t go wrong. It fuels you to give even more.”

We’re proud to hear our residents grow despite the current situation. Everyone is coping with these times in their own way and for RON L this includes finding comfort in other music genres. By broadening his musical horizon he manages to keep himself inspired and deliver the drive and energy he’s known for so well.

In this set RON L aimed to translate the energy he would provide in a peak-time club experience. By using dark hypnotic soundscapes in combination with lots of energetic drive he manages to mesmerize the dancefloor and give them a dynamic experience. He aims to create an atmosphere of trust and mutual respect where the listener can fully let go and indulge in the moment. This magical dancefloor experience is something we all miss a lot, but thanks to RON L we have some new perspective on what to expect once the sound systems are fired up again.
