Shortly before the one-year anniversary of his debut album ‘Why Does Everybody Look Like Someone I Know?’, and to round up this chapter of his musical live, e.no is releasing a remix album with the title Why Does Everybody Sound Like Me?

As rich and multi-faceted the original album is, it is no surprise that also his remix album spans a wide array of styles and approaches to e.no’s music. You’ll get your fair share of club-ready versions with Berlin’s Boy DADA and Part Time Alpaca (and the Extended Version of ‘Why Should I Run?’). Award-winning composer Eric C. Powell from Texas, Norwegian Atroxity and Danish duo Into The Blood fill all your synth and electro pop desires. If your thing is intricate, multi-layered Electronica, your best bet are Italian LCAO and Berlin’s Sorry the Hedgehog. If you are lusting for funk and broken grooves, you may be well-served by the remixes for Heads Up!, courtesy of English beat cruncher The Beat-Pimp and again Sorry the Hedgehog.

Remix spotlight: Highlike (Part Time Alpaca Remix)
Part Time Alpaca is not really someone striving for bold appearances and in-your-face marketing. He gave up on Social Media, to ultimately focus on music and not be distracted by the constant drags and pushes of FOMO. Being himself a multi-instrumentalist, playing and working in multiple bands and projects, he is the perfect fit for remixing e.no.

Highlike is most likely the oddest song on e.no’s album. Featuring rapper and actor Gläser, it is the only German (and) Hip Hop track on the whole release. Part Time Alpaca takes up on the track’s old-school notion, but decidedly makes it more compatible for the dance floor. It will remind you of the classic Deep House, miles away from its modern-day over-commercial lollipop aesthetics. Stripped down to its bare minimum, the Part Time Alpaca remix takes a moment, and then translates its strictly compressed and vibrant groovework. It comprises of analogue synth elements, funky Rhodes licks, a stomping, honest house beat, and clever sample work borrowing drums, vocals and brass elements from the original. Being so foreign to the original track, Part Time Alpaca decided against just another house rendition for a pop song, but made it one of these creative and original re-works you keep coming back to.
