Argentinian DJ and producer Juan Barrera has been making waves in the progressive house scene since his early beginnings in Córdoba. His journey as a DJ began in 2016, and since then, Barrera has been captivating audiences with his dynamic sets that skilfully blend progressive, melodic, and deep house tones. Drawing inspiration from legendary artists such as Hernán Cattaneo, John Digweed, Sasha, and Nick Warren, Barrera’s sound is defined by its grooved, melodic textures, seamlessly adapting to the energy of any venue.

In 2018, Barrera took his passion for electronic music to the next level by diving into production. By February 2022, he marked his official debut with the release of his first EP on "We Are The Underground." The project featured the standout track "Greta," a collaborative effort with acclaimed DJ and producer Cesar Lombardi. The momentum continued in 2024 with the release of his "Griffin Door" EP, a collaboration with B.I.G (AR) on the esteemed label AH Digital. This release featured remixes by Leandro Murua and Andres Moris, with the latter receiving support from progressive house icon Guy J.

Throughout 2024, Barrera's trajectory soared as he expanded his catalog to include collaborations with B.I.G (AR) on respected labels Mango Alley and Univack. His presence on labels like AH Digital, Moussaieff Records, Balkan Connection South America, and Urban Life Music further solidifies his standing in the global progressive house community.

Barrera's talents have not gone unnoticed on the local circuit either. He has shared the stage with prominent Argentine DJs such as Matías Chilano, Ivan Aliaga, Christopher Erre, Agustin Pietrocola, and Marce del Boca, among others. His performance alongside international DJ Forty Cats, where he had the honour of warming up the booth, is a testament to his growing reputation.

Now based in Córdoba’s capital city, Barrera continues to perform at clubs across the local scene, all while dedicating himself to creating fresh, innovative productions that push the boundaries of progressive house.

Transitioning fully to Progressive House later that year, he unveiled his debut solo EP, "Redux/Flux," on Mango Alley, garnering widespread support and elevating his career to new heights. Spending several weeks in the top 10, this EP became his most recognizable release.
Continuing his momentum of chart-topping releases, Maze 28 followed up with his release on Ruben Karapetyan's RKP imprint. Titled "This Is Just A Dream" and including a monumental remix by Hernan Cattaneo & Marcelo Vasami, the original version and remix exploded onto Beatport, marking another significant milestone in Maze 28's journey.

He got the support of important DJs like Nick Warren, Fernando Ferreyra, Interaxxis, Sebastian Busto, Nicolas Rada, Tripswitch, Lonya, DJ Ogawa, Nicholas Van Orton, Mir Omar, among others.
In Argentina, he played in clubs like Elements, La Biblioteca, Bahrein, Esvedra, Shamrock, Niceto club, among others.

3rd Avenue is an electronic music imprint which operates under the Sound Avenue umbrella.  As the Belgian imprint continued to grow and diversify its output 3rd Avenue was created to focus on the more traditional progressive house sounds which ultimately spawned Sound Avenue’s beginnings. The labels initial releases from Blusoul, Lautaro Varela, Matias Chilano and Progress Inn forged a strong blueprint which still holds true today. Now ten years since the labels inception 3rd Avenue has built a healthy artist roster which includes Nicolas Rada, Dmitry Molosh, Hot Tuneik, Eric Lune, Monojoke, Figueras, Subnode, La Vue, Beije, St.Ego and many more.  The label’s ‘We Are The Future’ compilation series has long been one of the best showcases of new and undiscovered artists. Released quarterly these exclusive collections are now revered industry wide for not only developing new talent but for featuring some of the freshest most cutting edge music around. 2024 holds even more promise for this flourishing imprint with a bevy of exciting releases and an ever expanding artist roster.
