Starting Terminus - RUIZZO's Point Of View (Piano by Fivos Valachis)

Same aunt's old and out of tune piano used in Piano Sessions 2012, here mixed over strong jazzy bass & drums, and singing live !!

Unique Piano Session 2013 - Expedición Ártica - Jazzy Piano Version

Like the short lyrics' meaning "love has no hurry", music makes contrasts on rhythms and textures even inside each part: Main theme starts with fast drums on slow melodies & has a DANCEABLE? 2nd part with lead bass guitar; Central theme makes fast tracks become slow to the left channel and vice-versa, progressing to a POST-ROCK? atmosphere. Meanwhile, two lead guitars and echoing voices complete the contrasting piece. I hope to get your feedback !!!

I close my POTENCIAL BIÓTICO album with this contemporary revival of a philosophical song I wrote 19 years ago when my grandpa died.

Could describe it as a requiem for guitar quartet, 2 voices, rhythmic base & church bell (you may know the piano version at https://soundcloud.com/esemanolain-ruizzo/sets/piano-sessions-2012 album).

A mostly slow piece with lotta soul and no artistic ambition (but a little ‘Pros&Cons’ air to the end ;).

I’m happy to post this song with help from my first SC friend https://soundcloud.com/espere-verde, who encouraged me on to improve my music making from a very start. Good musician & draughtsman (he did this artwork too), his vocal performance here gave the mood I couldn’t to the song.

Technical highlights:
>Most vocals: Espere Verde
>Music & almost no vocals: Ruizzoidman
>Odd patterns hidden along three levels in this track: amalgamated psycho-hard coating, usual 7/2 in punk/ska intermediate parts, and finally the sweater core is structured in groups of five measures.

Lyrics: strangely, I wrote about these stressing things when I was 21 and supposedly happy; I'd say similarly today I'm twice as old...

Sin mujeres ni tabaco, sin prisas (Most vocals by Espere Verde)

When https://soundcloud.com/dneye asked me for a track to play his fantastic guitars on, I brainstormed this 5/4 piece with odd chord set in order to make it difficult to him and thus get the best from his skills. After programming it, I added some organic solos (yep I played keys) to make it seem more friendly ;))))

And he... succeeded in the challenge, overcoming all my expectations !!!

This song was written, initially, just for fun...a song with verses that end with "-tion". It later turned into a more serious note of someone reaching out for help.

Save Me

It's been a pleasant challenge to craft Mark's adlibed voice.

Tried finger drumming... moments of 3/4, others 4/4... then I remembered Franco Battiato singing about 7/8 measures in Brittish folk, and... why not?

Similar doubts about the chords, I finally built a sliding harmony using groups of notes found along the vocal line.

Many laboratory hours after I got something friendly; time to jam brainlessly a pair of guitars which made some organic company to the voice.

Great temptation of singing with Mark, but I finished the vocal edition by building a final choir instead ;)

Songster version was a little ‘copla’ about not being able to be with, nor without, a loved person.  As usual, I’ve ‘upgraded’ it, process from which you only get the final result, normally. 

But, following lyrics’ contradictions, I not only serve parts with different levels of (dis)order in heavy rock - flamenco sauce, but raw vs very cooked parts as well, starting with the improvised phone recording of the very first idea I had to develop the song, so please excuse my failures and noises.

Sick part in the middle was generated from a Fibonacci series, proving there is order in any chaotic system. Only a stupid would have played guitar on that mess… so I did. Groove Surfing

Groove surfing is about pure art and expression.  A reminder of the reason I play to begin with...for the simple love of music in its infinite variations.  Aimless and a dance around the campfire. 

The whole thing recorded in a few hours, where most of the time was spent dialing in the tone, 10 minutes to figure what to do, record up to six passes, pick the best one and move on to the next instrument.  

Many years ago I was reading a modern music critique piece and the authors phrase " When artists make it about the art,  instead of money then it will be art."   So to the author whose name I can't remember with a quote I can't cite the source.  This one is for you!

Here is the jam session I ended up with.  You won't find perfection but hopefully something that makes you smile and say "that's cool man!"

The worrying situation for all life on this planet and my personal take on it all is a lack of vision at this most important turning point in human evolutionary history from the leadership at the top throughout the world as we plod on with our human made self perpetuating blinkered destruction, putting profit before planet and seemingly unable to break the cycle, ever since i was a kid back in the 60s i have seen nothing but the same re-vamped political nonsense and corruption at all levels of society with 0 change as we continue to follow and embrace and set further into stone the same visionless materalistic and religious idealistic values which are layered with a thick coating of personal stigmas and bad vibes we put upon each other, which over time have now been engraved and built into our psychological makeup, leaving the true vision and prize lost which is now endagering all life upon the planet and if a fundimental change and shift doesnt happen we will destory the lot on this unique floating paradise oasis garden for all life in the eternal darkness, good food for thought while i hope you enjoy this original and positive fun filled thought provoking electronic alternative rock styled triple track remix and good vibe collaboration featuring the very kewl words and vocals of the very talented Couch King Presents and ENILSounds!
