Mindbloom is a heavy track bordering on alt rock, and the first single of the album. Overall, between it's composition and production, Mindbloom is personally my favourite track off the album. It is about looking back on an old relationship of mine and how obsessive about it I was at the time. With the exception of Dichroic, this was the first track I started work on, back in 8th February 2020. I continued work on it throughout April and May, and then in July I came up with the second section. The strange feeling of this section comes from the time signature change from 5/8 to 4/4, but I kept the same bar length and kept elements of the 5/8 running through so that there were cross rhythms. Because this was the mix that I felt most confident with going into stem mixes in December, I mixed this one first and used it as a sort of template to help me with choices about the other tracks, checking elements against it and such. I did the same in February when referencing and mastering the tracks.
