I wrote and played the piano for this piece a while back, but I always wanted real acoustic violin as accompaniment. More than happy to take the back seat to Tatiana's magnificent violin as she brilliantly takes over. With just a little classical percussion this is now a bonafide classical piece with maybe a little rock production & mastering wrapping it all up.

Under the velvet glow of late-night city lights, “Knife in the Heart” glides in like a fever dream — smooth, hypnotic, and unbearably beautiful. A chillwave samba that sways between heartbreak and transcendence, it doesn’t scream — it whispers. It breathes in rhythm, the percussion brushing like silk against the pulse of quiet agony.

The lyrics unfold like a confession whispered through smoke, where love isn’t loud or dramatic — it’s surgical. The wound is invisible, but the pain glows. The “knife” here isn’t made of metal, but of memory, and every twist of it becomes strangely musical — a string vibrating in the chest, a samba beat disguised as sorrow.

Warm synth pads drift over a lazy, tropical groove, while subtle guitar lines and brushed snares wrap the listener in deceptive calm — a kind of emotional anesthesia. It’s the sound of smiling while bleeding inside.

This is not heartbreak in chaos — it’s heartbreak in rhythm.
A sunset bleeding into neon, a dance for those who’ve learned that love doesn’t always end — sometimes, it lingers and turns.

Born in São Paulo, Brazil, Evandro B. Lira, also known as “Vintage Mutation”, has been a musical explorer since he was nine years old, when he started his first music studies.
In 1990, he became a trombone player, participating in “jam session” meetings and joining with some gospels orchestras. In 1996 he began his studies in synthesizer keyboards, suffering the influence of the electric guitar since 1998, when he started composing his first songs.
Active researcher on the relationship between music and mysticism, revives his experiences since 2016, expanding his sounds from synthesizers and guitars, in order to rescue all the classic and “vintage” atmosphere, for consequent transmutation into contemporary tendencies.
