YxYY (or Yes by Yes Yes) is a gathering of geeks, nerds, weirdos, creatives, futurists, thinkers, and yay-sayers held at the ACE Hotel in Palm Springs.

Although we couldn't attend this year, I wanted us to be present in some form and contribute to the community. Here's a little something something a little different from my usual Funk and Breaks affair; a grooving mix suitable for when you're in or next to the pool discussing how to change the world.

This set is full of tracks which would sound good alongside the landscape gliding past the window of a train, or on the sweep of a freeway winding out of the mountains, or maybe whilst peering down through the clouds at the winding course of a great river.

Bassline-driven house is the name of the game with this peak-hour banger. This is my favorite event to play every year and this time did not disappoint!

What can I say about FnF that hasn't already been said? It's always an honor to be selected to play at these truly special events, and as such I always prepare a very thoughtfully curated set based on which stage I'm playing at and where my time slot is located in the day/night. I never plan my sets from start to finish, but I do spend quite a bit of time prior to the event finding new music and creating several small playlists of music I think I may want to play based on genre. 

This year, my slot was Friday night, June 2, 2023 from 11:15pm to 12:30am right before kem, one of my long-time DJ pals & FnF OG. For my slot, I wanted to set up kem nicely by warming up the dance floor with some tech house and then ramped up the energy throughout my set with some jackin' house & bass house.

Huge thanks to Ethan, the Music Committee, the entire FnF family and Radiant Atmospheres for always creating an exquisite experience that is truly unmatched in love, vibes and production.

Excited to release my set from LIB 20-Year Anniversary!  Every LIB experience for me seems to top the last.  

This year was special as I hosted Camp Tropical for the first time and had my daughter, Cerise, there for the first time since 2019.  And it was LIB's 20th year, and a brilliant one!

Huge thank you to the Flemming Brothers - Jesse, Dede and Josh and team for producing the Fest, to Patricio Motta for producing the Junkyard Stage I played on, and to Todd Anisman for the ChinoSound!

I always put a lot of effort into my LIB sets, and this year no exception but with the extra challenge of extra responsibility x 2 - organizing a Tropical group camp, and caring for my daughter, who made a few visits to the DJ booth during this set as well.

Honestly I did feel a little less focused that normal up there and wasn't sure how I was going to feel about my set when I got the recording.  I'm a harsh self-critic but I actually love this mix as much as any of the 6 others I've played at this lovely fest :)

I definitely play with a certain aesthetic at LIB, which is to honor the crossing of the underground and mainstream in my own way.  I describe this set as banging and uplifting, with carefully chosen vocals.  I mean a festival is a celebration, and this just year 2 out of the pandemic I'm definitely favoring uplifting over dark.  

Ok, I do favor that generally, but same time I am processing some darkness over the past 2 years as I've experienced huge losses.  Last year's LIB I was processing the recent demise of my marriage, while this year I was processing the loss of my mom last September.

Recently in our West Coast underground music community we have lost some very special people and there's been a lot of sadness over that, especially this past week.  

One of the very best tools for processing loss is of course music and dance - I hope this set brings you light and joy in these challenging times <3

Due to certain events beyond our control we had a late departure for Spinning Wheel this year. I was scheduled to play the opening slot on Friday but we weren't able to make it in time. Playing music & making people dance is very cathartic for me. With my work being as exceptionally difficult as it has been this year I was really looking forward to sharing my music with everyone. Missing this much needed time behind the decks was a heavy weight on me & I allowed it to stay there for the rest of the weekend. 

In an attempt to shake the bad energy that I (and my life) created for myself I made this. I'd like to think that it went down like this somewhere on the sacred timeline.

This is what I had planned on sharing with everyone for the opening set of the 2023 Fall Classic at Spinning Wheel. I hope you like it.

It was an amazing experience playing on the Waveworks system with visuals from the Radiant Atmospheres crew. Rebolledo and I have some unforgettable moments playing together on the playa through the past 10 years and every time it was an unpredictable journey through totally different musical dimensions. 

This b2b set on the Robot Heart is no exception. We traveled in time exploring different corners of dance music and I love how musically raw and diverse the set was.

Ethan - DISTRIKT REVEL Redux - 2015 FnF Sunset Steam Train Mix

I had the pleasure of playing to the always beautiful sunsets on Koh Lanta, an island in Thailand at the Pangea Beach Bar. This was a great opportunity to put together a set of a lot of the chiller tracks I've been collecting over the last year or so.

This 2h30m set is a journey with the sun, starting off chill and, after the sun sets and the lights come on, a little bit more of a dance vibe with many throwbacks.

Exoendo is a freshly emerging force in the San Francisco house music scene. EXOENDO is a Bay Area-based DJ, vocalist, and producer, with a sound that spans the spectrum—from bold, high-energy sets filled with soulful melodies, tribal basslines, and vibrant frequencies, to chill, expansive beats that shift the mood and stretch the moment. Whether spinning bangin’ Drum & Bass, soulful Breaks, funky House, moody Techno, or ethereal Downtempo, EXOENDO always takes the dance floor on a journey. Her sets are crafted to move bodies, stir energy, and elevate states—no matter the genre or setting.

A lifelong musician, EXOENDO’s roots as a singer, songwriter, and classical guitarist laid the foundation for her global and genre-crossing style. Her love of world and tribal sounds was sparked by travels through Europe and India, and deepened through her work in music-as-medicine, guiding somatic sound experiences known as Transplant Journeys—blending voice, frequency, and movement for emotional release and connection.

She’s a resident with First Love, Strategik, and Ambient Mafia, and is most in her element playing campouts, renegades, Burning Man, and stages throughout the Bay Area. Whether producing or DJing, her music is an invitation to listen with your whole being—on a back road drive, under the stars, or wherever the pulse takes you.
