Deeply embedded in London’s underground house and techno world, Josh exists not just as a DJ. With a versatile skill palette, Josh is also a producer and vocalist and the formidable frontman of infamous house and techno duo Paranoid London (made up of Gerardo Delgado and Quinn Whalley). Josh’s sound roams from deeply versatile DJ sets, to live vocal performances that are driving and entrancing in equal measure – a perfect fit for the sleazy, throwback era, acid house, and old school Chicago house Paranoid London produce so well. As fabric resident Josh has stunned and enthralled us on numerous occasions both at the club and elsewhere. In March we took Josh’s live project along with a troupe of Vogue Dancers to the English National Opera, a set proving he could captivate any venue you put in front of him. Plus stand out sets like his live show at last year's Birthday have solidified him as more than a regular fabric player - fabric family. 

But his creative endeavours don’t stop there. Josh is also one of the masterminds behind beloved London dance music brand and queer party Love Child. Love Child is a collective with a clear-cut aim and has established itself as one of the capital’s best-loved names for seriously good music, and equally good parties. For our 30-hour Birthday, Josh has enlisted Love Child for a Room takeover. Expect a very special showcase from this tight-knit and boundary pushing collective. More details on Room splits, and further special guests for the weekend’s proceedings are set to be revealed in the coming weeks. So, we suggest you keep your eyes locked on the fabric channels for updates. 

This latest recorded set builds and pumps steadily throughout, with warping beats that will gear you up to lose control in the throws of the EC1 dancefloor all over again.

As a marine biologist, Sam Matthews’ career choice is as unique as his taste in music. Whether he’s dropping hazy lo-fi house or Afrobeat rumblings, the Plymouth-based DJ always has an eclectic array of vinyl at his disposal. He regularly brings this unique style to the West Country dancefloors of L*ghtw'rks and Vivify at the Factory, as well having once hosted a charity gig on the coast of the Indonesian island of Nusa Lembongan where he was studying manta rays.

A Grade 5 cellist by age 12, Sam has always held a deep appetite for music. Over time he was drawn to electronic music and was DJing to himself by the time he was 14. It wasn’t until Sam went to university, however, that he began pushing himself and dabbling in vinyl – a collection he’s built up to around 350 records having sold many along the way.

“I like how it's hands-on and feels quite natural compared to a computer or CDJ,” he explains on his format choice. “The expense also helps because it makes you think twice before buying it. It's helped me become more passionate about the music I play.”

While there wasn’t much of a music scene when he arrived, he’s been lucky enough to see one build up on the West coast as he’s recently landed on bills alongside Felix Dickinson, Steve Murphy, Luke Solomon and Andy Daniell. With flair, style and a deep passionate love of the quality music he plays, Sam is a selector in the truest sense.

Charmingly unassuming, Sam may have already achieved his biggest ambitions. “My ultimate dream was to play at Vivify in my own time,” he says. “I've never had a goal to play at big clubs or anything like that. I just enjoy playing music to people.” But with talent like his, it’s bound to take him far.
