Really starting to get into the richness of the groove. Like arms wrapping the body, this song surrounds the mind with warm imagings.

Seeded by applying a Sudoku pattern to the 16 boxes of the Rene sequencer. And that's a picture of caffeine - a little mysterious looking thing, essential to my productions.

Intrigue

This started out as a little experiment with four 303s playing in the round. Then all of a sudden I made a screamy lead I liked and improvised a melody by sliding around a Phrygian scale with my laptop trackpad!

A little bit of inspiration was thanks to the amazing music of Greg Hunter (Dubsahara), not to mention great Berlin school artists like Klaus Schulze.

There is a lot more I could do with this track but this is it for now at least.

the moon touched the earth

A mammoth 30 minute jam here using the same gear as in my previous track (“Hello (bliss out)”) so check that page for more info. No edits were made so this is the complete jam with some mastering added (Wavelab/Ozone). 

Played a bass patch live in parts (used 5 different patches on the NM) so may not be a 100% tight (unquantised). The bulk of synthesizer sounds here are from the Nord Modular. It has the capacity to have 4 patches in memory simultaneously so switched between these from time to time. Samples were pre-prepared by sampling short phrases of my voice into the pocket size Teenage Engineering PO-35.

Will record more of these jams as a way to practice. Headphones give the best clarity imho:) Due to massive size of the 24 bit wav only uploaded a 320 kb/s mp3 file, enjoy!

Technical note: The high pitched melodic sequence (intro) is mostly the K2 with LP filter resonance full on but is similar to high piched sounds coming from the Syncussion (FM/bell type sounds). Also the Nord modular can make these type of sounds (6 op FM patches). Korg SQ-1 sequencer was triggering bass on Syncussion (right side). Lo/hi tom out from RD-6 was triggering hi pitched metallic sounds from Syncussion (left side).
