Known for its meticulous approach to uncovering and reissuing lost gems across soul, funk, punk, ambient, and beyond, Numero has earned its place as a gold standard for crate diggers and curious listeners alike. Sevier, a tireless researcher and selector, brings that same curatorial depth to his exclusive mix—a deep dive into self-released and small-label funk-adjacent singles from Ohio, Texas, Michigan, and Georgia. Alongside the mix, we caught up with him to talk DJing in hidden corners of Japan, the joys of non-allegiance to any one digging method, and what’s next for one of the most important archival projects in music.

To celebrate the release of the Telepathic Fish compilation, we have a special ‘O Is For Orange 2025’ Bleep Mix from DJ Food.

"A version of this mix first appeared in 2013 at a night to celebrate the release of Boards of Canada’s ‘Tomorrow’s Harvest’ LP release. It then morphed into an Audio Video DJ set that I toured around the UK in 2019, playing the Bluedot festival to a packed tent that year. The idea was to thread Boards of Canada’s music with original sample sources, tracks they’d remixed, fan remixes or songs that fitted their sonic blueprint.

I recently resurrected and refined the mix for a gig booking, updating it into a new version. This happened to be a week before I was due to deliver my guest mix to Bleep and it seemed to be too good an opportunity to pass up. I abandoned the mix I was going to deliver and put down the first hour of the ‘Orange’ set including a video mix to go with it. I used stem splitting apps to deconstruct some of the tracks into unique versions before video mixing it all on turntables using Serato then editing the footage in Premiere." - @strictly

We're delighted to be teaming up with long-time AIH pal Gorgeous Bully as well as relative newcomers Something Anorak, for a four track split 7" due for release 26th June.

The two bands met whilst both living and playing in Cornwall in early 2011 and bonded over a shared love of boisterous lo-fi music. In the five years since, Something Anorak, consisting of cousins James and Chris Barrett, moved to Bristol; released an album on Howling Owl and split time writing music between working as a plumber and a postman. Meanwhile, Gorgeous Bully's Thomas Crang moved to Manchester and with no such restrictions on his time, has spent 5 years of unemployment ascending the stairs of bedroom-pop stardom whilst sharing a steady stream of songs that are "ugly and bummed and uncomfortable in all the right ways.

The split features two tracks from each band and is set to be released as a cherry red 7" record on June 26th.
