Most of these recordings had been played  almost "prima vista" during a recording session to produce one hour of "background music" for a spoken therapeutic CD. So, no time and need to practise a lot.
Long ago, so only a copy on a compactcassette remained from the guitar parts.  I did my best last year to restore the sound and to clear it from hiss and noise without losing to much of the original sound. It's not perfect, I know. But I hope, that these recordings still breath the special charm of Sor's loveley musical ideas in his so called "Estudios", which are so much more than that.

All the tracks in this playlist are free for download and free for using them for whatever you want. If you use one for something shown in the www, please put a link to my soundcloud and let me know. I would enjoy to see it.

Classic Guitar - Fernando Sor

I was inspired by 'Diagnosing genius: the life and death of Beethoven' by Martin Mai. I'm really into his dark way of composing, and haven't played anything of Beethoven yet. Also the video lectures of Jonathan Biss at the Curtis institute of music, gave me lots of help. So this month's classical piece will be the Piano Sonata No. 14 in C-sharp minor (Op. 27, No. 2) - written by Beethoven, also known as the Moonlight Sonata (completed in 1801). 

So the process took me 3 days to study the sheets and in the end it was recorded by Feau, who did a great job mixing and mastering the piece.

A really cool and tricky little piece. I didn't learn the second half of the song, because frankly, I didn't like it! But I loved the first half, so I just did it in a "Rondo" fashion......hope you like it!!! COMPOSER ~ Henry Purcell
