Music by Andri Søren (fka sonøren), about taking sounds from ordinary life and making songs, soundscapes and soundtracks from them.  Contact: AndriSoren@gmail.com - There's no particular genre or style as each is born out of a particular mood or moment.

Beside that, I'm a performer and producer, spanning the genres from house and techno to soundtracks and soundscapes, going in-between bright, low-tempo melodic numbers to dark, driving electro and dark, lush ambient electronica.  

My performances are highly improvised, based on an ever-developing live set into which years of synth-hunting, technique-development and ideas have gone.  I start with a blank canvas, and starts painting.  Now and then I mix this live set with playing out existing tracks, a sort of hybrid DJing.

Learning to play the piano and the violin from an early age, and once a tenor in a choir, the impulse behind live performances are to enjoy as much as possible the possibilities of improvisation and experimentation, employing the incredible versatility of 'digital' performing techniques and tools such as step-sequencers and modulation automation together with the analogue through the playing and performing of various instruments; sampled, synthesised, or sung.  It is the moment of making, of creating which is the most exciting, rather than performing an existing track or piece as  successfully as possible.

Bio:
Born in Edinburgh, Scotland, with Icelandic origins, Andri is currently based in Brussels; the vibrant, chaotic and contradictory capital of Europe and Belgium, active organising club nights and concerts as well as performing and producing.

Andri has performed at venues across Europe, including the Beursschouwburg, De Haus, Bazaar/Zukunft & Bruxelles les Bains in Brussels, Stockholm S in Antwerp, Contemporary Art Centre in Vilnius, and during the Gentse Feesten and Iceland Airwaves in Reykjavik.

Woody Allen recruited him to score the theme for last year’s smash film Midnight in Paris, and he performed the irresistibly catchy original song live during the 2012 Academy Awards.  He has headlined at Lincoln Center, played major festivals, recorded with mandolin legend David Grisman, toured with master violinist Mark O’Connor and shared stages with everyone from Elvis Costello to Patti Smith to The Roots. The Gitane guitar company has even named a model after him. To say that Stephane Wrembel—who learned his craft among the Gypsies at campsites in the French countryside—has already had a remarkable career would be an understatement. But this virtuoso guitarist from France has truly just begun to make his mark as one of the most original guitar voices in contemporary music.

This project of mine, is an attempt to get to a time in electronic music, where everything sounds warmer, like with the more techno-ey tunes by throbbing gristle maybe abit like what geogaddi by boards of canada got across,but with a whole other meaning with a more dancable edge of new order. This needed to be done and needs to be done more. let's call it Tape Throb for now.
